International Medical Corps is currently looking for a Senior Supervisor of the Department of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS Supervisor) in Kyiv.

Job Description

The Senior Supervisor of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support will be responsible for the technical direction and supervision of psychologists, case managers and psychological support workers involved in the implementation of the program. The main task of this role is to ensure the quality and effectiveness of mental health and psychosocial support services provided to people affected by crisis situations. 

and MMK's Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) partners, which include psychologists, case managers and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) workers. This includes conducting case reviews, providing feedback on clinical assessments and interventions, and ensuring adherence to best practices and ethical standards.
  • Capacity Building: Identify training needs and develop capacity building plans for the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) team. Organize and conduct trainings, seminars and exerciseson skills development to increase the competence of team members in areas such as trauma-informed care, psychosocial support methods and cultural sensitivity.  
  • Program Development and Implementation: Collaborate with program managers to develop, implement and evaluate Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) interventions that meet the needs of the target group. This may include the development of individual or group counselling, support groups, community-based interventions and psychoeducational initiatives in close collaboration with Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) professionals.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation : Monitor and analyze collected data on service delivery, outcomes, and customer satisfaction levels to inform decision-making and improve program effectiveness.
  • Report to the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Specialist (MHPSS), and the head of the program. 
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the manager.

    Minimum requirements

    • Higher education in psychology, social work, counseling or related fields (required). 
    • Certified WHO instructor for the Mental Health Gaps Action Program (mhGAP) or other large-scale psychological interventions. (Preferred, but not required). An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted where appropriate. 
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field, years of relevant and progressive experience providing mental health services and a minimum of 2 years of experience in managing and mentoring staff. 
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Languages: Fluent in Ukrainian and Russian. English is an advantage. 

    Desirable: 

    • Experience in humanitarian response and Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) interventions. Case management experience. 
    • Competence: Deep understanding of trauma-informed care principles, psychosocial support methodologies, and ethical principles of working with vulnerable populations.
