About the job
The ICRC Weapon Contamination Department seeks a competent Weapon Contamination Field Officer (WeC Field Officer) to join our team in Kharkiv. This role implements directly or supports the implementation and monitoring of ICRC WeC activities. S/he contributes directly to ensuring staff safety and the continuation of critical operations, helping vulnerable people, and supporting National Societies in situations where conventional or non-conventional weapon contamination poses a hazard.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Where applicable, assist the WeC Delegate in implementing and following up WeC activities
- Contribute to assessing and analyzing the security, socio-economic, cultural and political environment as relevant to the ICRC, and share information on these subjects with colleagues
- Collect and compile WeC-related information
- Contribute to building the capacity of the national authorities and National Societies
- Contribute to written reporting on WeC activities
- Develop and maintain contacts with the authorities at local level
- Translate/interpret as required by the department
- Report events and change within the region that could have an impact on the ICRC's activities, thereby providing sound elements that help the delegation to set objectives and priorities
- Stand in for the WeC Delegate and represent the WeC program in internal and external meetings

About you
To be successful as WeC Field Officer in the Weapon Contamination Department, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:
- Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
- Relevant university degree or technical college qualification
- Minimum 3 years of overall professional experience
- At least 2 years of experience in WeC/mine action or a related field
- Previous experience with the ICRC or another humanitarian organization is an asset
- Background in Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) response is an advantage
- Professional fluency in English, Ukrainian, and Russian
- Good knowledge of the assigned geographic area
- Strong training, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
- Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment

ABOUT THE POSITION
The ICRC is looking for a competent Senior Specialist of the Armed Security Department to join the team in Kharkiv.This position involves direct implementation, implementation support and monitoring of activities ICRC within programs related to armed danger. He/she directly contributes to the security of personnel, the continuity of critical operations, the provision of assistance to vulnerable populations and the support of national societies in situations where contamination by conventional or unconventional weapons poses a threat.

YOUR PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- When possible, provide support to the delegate in the implementation and further monitoring of the activities of the armed security department
- Participate in the assessment and analysis of the security, socio-economic, cultural and political environment relevant to the ICRC and share relevant information with colleagues
- Collect, organize and update information related to the activity of the unit
- Contribute to the capacity building of national authorities and national societies
- Contribute to the preparation of written reports on the activities of the unit
- Develop and maintain working contacts with local authorities
- Perform written or oral translations related to the activities of the department
- Report on events and changes in the region that may affect the activities of the ICRC, ensuring the delegation is relevant information to determine goals and priorities
- If necessary, replace the delegate and present the division’s program at internal and external meetings
