Unicorn Systems is a renowned European company providing the largest information systems and solutions in the area of information and communication technologies. We have been focused on high added value and competitive advantage for our customers.

Now we are looking for a  Senior Software Engineer to join the team of our client — the global leader in the logistics industry, specializing in international shipping, courier services and transportation.

The team is building a new data warehouse for parcel data, based on Data Vault 2.0 modelling. The current focus is on creating the initial data integration and additional support is needed for these tasks.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Python;
• Additional skills in JavaScript and Scala are a plus;
• Expertise in Snowflake for data warehousing;
• Familiarity with architectural patterns such as Data Vault Modeling, Lakehouse, and Data Meshing;
• Strong skills in batch data ingestion using Azure Data Factory (ADF) or Apache Spark;
• Solid background in streaming data ingestion using Apache Kafka and Spark Streaming;
• Experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Azure DevOps;
• Familiarity with other CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Git Actions is a plus;
• Proficiency in binary formats such as Parquet and Avro (main), with ORC as a plus;
• Knowledge of other warehousing technologies like Synapse, and understanding of Semantic Versioning and Schema Evolution are beneficial;
• English proficiency at an upper-intermediate level or higher.
