Global Banking & Markets (GBM) is the “investment bank” for HSBC. The Global Foreign Exchange (GFX) business is a key component within HSBC’s GBM division. Our businesses generate millions of transactions across a range of financial markets. Our IT teams design and develop modern systems covering all aspects - trading in the markets, sales and customer tools, handling transactions and building financial and regulatory reporting.

eRisk are responsible for electronic pricing, trading, risk management and data analytics in Foreign Exchange. We are a team of around 70 people located in New York, Toronto, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, London and Krakow. The majority of functional applications are written in Java, we use various open source solutions for tooling and there is a growing need to support other languages such as python and Javascript.

If your CV meets our criteria, you should expect the following steps in the recruitment process:

  • Online behavioural test (for external candidates only)
  • Telephone screen (for external candidates only)
  • Zoom interview with the hiring manager
  • Proficient in Java with a strong background of object-oriented programming.
  • Broad experience of client-side scripting using Angular, React or Node.
  • Working knowledge of bash scripting.
  • Familiarity with developing RESTful applications that persist to relational or NoSQL databases.
  • Proficient with CICD tools - Maven, Git, Jenkins.
  • Ability to create tests case using Junit.
  • English at least B2 level.
