Basic knowledge:
- Teams deal with both development and maintenance. The exact proportions vary depending on the area, but they are looking for people as they develop new functionalities.
- Average: 80-20 in favor of development.
- The vast majority of the code is JVM-based languages (JDK8). Mainly Java and Kotlin. Scala happens. Teams often write tests using the Spock framework in Groovy. Most services (they use a microservices architecture) make extensive use of Spring Framework (Core, Data, MVC, Security) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Couchbase, ElasticSearch, etc.). If necessary, teams use other technologies - depending on the problems they need to solve (e.g. when working with large volumes of data, Spark, Hive, etc. are often used).
- Teams work agile (Agile) and most of them use Scrum. The length of sprints depends on the specific team, but the vast majority have 1-2 week sprints.
- Testing that helps ensure product quality. The semantics of these different groups of tests are sometimes unclear, but let's say they are typically unit, integration and end to end tests. Teams implementing frontend also write tests using Selenium.
