Avenga is looking for an experienced Python Engineer in Europe to join our team on a full-time basis. The role involves contributing to a platform that helps real estate brokers, agents, and teams grow and manage their business by being their all-in-one digital hub. It offers various features and services, such as Facebook marketing, IDX search, AI chatbots, and Integrated backend services.

As a Senior Python Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust Python applications and services. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.

What do you bring along:

• 5+ years of experience in Python (developing, testing, and maintaining applications);
• Experience with pytest for unit and regression testing;
• Familiarity with Linux/EC2 environments and proficient use of Visual Studio Code;
• Ability to write clean, well-documented, and efficient code, even for tasks that may not be fully specified;
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts;
• Experience with Postgres or similar relational database systems;
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience;
• English — upper intermediate or higher.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of FastAPI and pymongo.

This is your mission:

• Develop, maintain, and improve our software applications with a focus on efficiency and scalability;
• Write, manage, and execute unit and regression tests using pytest to ensure robustness and reliability of the software;
• Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs in the codebase;
• Make existing code lint-compliant to enhance code quality and maintainability;
• Refactor code to improve readability, performance, and adherence to best practices;
• Ensure all contributed code is well-documented, clean, and complies with PEP standards;
• Follow software design and implementation directives, while also being comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
