We are seeking a Senior Product Owner to work with the UK development teams on the flagship UK product (CPOMS) and US product Student Safe of our Partner who is a leading provider of innovative safety solutions for schools and educational institutions. Their mission is to enhance the security and well-being of school communities by delivering cutting-edge technology solutions.

The Product Owner will be tasked with collaborating closely with two Development teams that have been around a long time and other stakeholders throughout the entire product lifecycle. They will be taking over an existing backlog and product development roadmap with release commitments already in place.

Also, the PO will partner with the Product Manager, internal stakeholders, and directly with the customers to thoroughly understand the context, customer needs, and user journey. This role aims to bridge the gap and enhance communication between customers and the Development teams.

PO will create release plans in conjunction with other stakeholders, ensuring these plans align with the product vision, address market needs, and are delivered in a timely manner.

PO will provide up-to-date information and demonstrations to other departments within the company to share knowledge and enable sales prior to the release of new features. Additionally, PO will play a key role in assisting the Marketing team in developing and maintaining strong customer communications regarding product releases and launches.

There are UK time zones for office hours.

Responsibilities:

• Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements
• Ensure the team always has a sufficient amount of prepared tasks to work on
• Plan and prioritize the product backlog and development activities
• Collaborate with the Product Director to define the product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities
• Evaluate value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure the team focuses on tasks with maximum value aligned with the product strategy
• Manage the backlog, plan iterations, and elaborate on user stories
• Work closely with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog based on business value or ROI
• Produce a clear release plan and monitor performance against the agreed release dates
• Research and analyze the market, users, and the product roadmap
• Stay informed about competitors and industry trends
• Keep up with Agile/Scrum best practices and emerging trends
• Effectively manage communication with stakeholders and deliver sprint and release reviews
• Act as the ‘proxy customer’ and represent stakeholders within the team to ensure developments meet business requirements and are fit for the purpose
• Collaborate with the Product Director to mentor members of the Product Team

Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Product Owner role or similarposition
• Familiarity with Agile Software Development Life Cycle methodologies
• Demonstrated strong leadership and product management capabilities
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to completion successfully
• Proven ability to effectively interact and communicate with all departments
• Ability to adapt to change with robust decision-making and critical thinking skills
• Enthusiasm about working in a dynamic and collaborative cross-functional agile product team environment
• Consistent availability and active participation in the team activities
• Strong sense of ownership for your product, capable of leading the team through direct management, peer collaboration, and influencing others to deliver high-quality solutions promptly
• Experience presenting at conferences and conducting training sessions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• English level — Upper-Intermediate or higher
• Ready to start ASAP

Will be a plus:

• Background in SaaS and cloud-based solutions
• Knowledge of user-centered design and testing, including methodologies, subsystems, and considerations for usability and accessibility
• Technical knowledge of SaaS products and their integrations, such as APIs
• Certifications: Certified Product Owner/Product Professional
