Position Summary Our client isseeking aBackend Software Engineer (Golang) tojoin the team. The ideal candidate isastrong polyglot software developer with experience inusing cloud infrastructure tosupport software engineering projects. They will beresponsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and continuously improving and supporting both internal and customer-facing APIgateways, the way they authenticate, authorize, bill and throttle the incoming calls, the tooling making those APIs self-service, aswell asthe instrumentation, observability and scalability ofour APIs. Team: 4-5 people (front, back, project manager, architect, and scrum master) Responsibilities: Ensure that your work meets all acceptance criteria. Test your work toensure that itworks asexpected. Present your work tocustomers toachieve sign-off. Work with your customers toensure that your work will meet the business needs; Shepherd your code (and others’ code) through the process until deployment; Detect root cause ofdefects and production bugs, and fix them when requested; Document work done inanappropriate location, whether itbeincode, orinadocument library. Hand off documentation tointended recipients oraudience. Document previously undocumented systems orpractices asencountered inyour work environment; Update team members onthe progress, ifyou are encountering any major issues, and actively encourage other team members todothe same while also providing insights into how tooptimize this communication; Perform necessary communication with Stakeholders asoutlined onyour team, and call out areas where there may beStakeholder communication issues. Additionally, strive tohave aclear understanding ofStakeholder goals tohelp drive better communication between your team and them; Stay current with platform changes and third-party libraries. Proactively investigate better solutions for current technologies; Respond toemergency issues and alerts assigned toyou. Contribute ideas onhow toimprove monitoring and alerting systems; Bepart ofthe technical interview team, and also offer ideas onhow toimprove the interview process. Qualifications: 5+years ofcommercial development experience; Strong computer science fundamentals; Proficiency inGolang; Experience inUnix/ Linux/ Docker; Knowledge ofand experience inacloud native environment (weuse GCP); Experienced inusing git intrunk-based development models; Experience using Open Telemetry for observability aswell asother monitoring tools such asDatadog; Experience inmodeling and working with Relational (RDBMS) databases and No-SQLdatabases, performance tuning long-running Queries; Experience inDocker applications and orchestrating them with Kubernetes; Understanding ofservice oriented architectures/ microservice architectures; Familiarity with security configuration for web/api services (SSL, Access control), and Microservices using Go; Experience with JIRA orother work tracking systems. Ability toresolve tickets according topriority order and collaborate with the Technical Product Manager toadjust priorities; Familiarity with creating anend-to-end CI/CD pipeline using various tools with artifact storage; Familiarity with use ofMacOS asadesktop and predominantly CLIinterfaces; Experience inwriting and automating Unit tests, Functional Tests, and Integration tests; Good knowledge ofdesigning, and writing code using Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts, S.O.L.I.D design principles, and Design Patterns; Experience indeveloping Responsive, Single Page Applications using React orAngular; Experience inuse offeature flagging todecouple release from deployment isaplus.
