Our client is a Spanish video content monetization platform for Publishers and Advertisers.

You will build a module for video editing in a user’s cabinet from scratch and integrate it into the existing product. The role provides 60% of frontend and 40% of backend tasks.

Stack of the project

Backend: PHP (Laravel/Symfony) or Go, MySQL, Docker, Redis, Sentry
Frontend: React, MobX, React Router, React Hook Form
Infrastructure: Docker Compose, GitLab CI/CD
Testing: PHPUnit or Go testing tools, Jest
Other: Linting tools (Prettier, ESLint)

Responsibilities

• Lead frontend development efforts, ensuring that user interfaces are responsive, performant, and aligned with the latest web standards.
• Ensure code quality and consistency across the frontend by utilizing linting tools (Prettier, ESLint) and enforcing coding standards.
• Develop and maintain backend services using both PHP (Laravel/Symfony) and Go, focusing on building robust and scalable APIs.
• Integrate with existing authentication systems and implement additional custom authentication mechanisms using middleware.
• Design and implement APIs for content configuration, tailored to user-specific video settings.
• Develop the project from scratch, including architecture design, database schema creation, and infrastructure setup.
• Manage the distribution of video content across multiple media servers, optimizing for performance and reliability.
• Establish and maintain synchronization mechanisms with external MySQL databases for user data, sites, and zones.
• Ensure backend API versatility, enabling integration with other products.
• Write comprehensive documentation, including database schemas, Docker setup, .env configuration, and README for building and deploying the application.
• Handle database migrations and ensure smooth version control.
• Write unit and functional tests for both backend and frontend code, ensuring high test coverage and reliability.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for automated testing, building, and deployment.
• Monitor and handle critical application errors using Sentry, ensuring quick resolution.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in frontend development using React, MobX, and modern JavaScript frameworks, with a deep understanding of responsive design principles.
• Proficiency in modern frontend build tools, especially Vite, and experience ensuring high code quality using linting tools like Prettier and ESLint.
• ~3 years of experience with PHP (Laravel/Symfony) and Go for backend development.
• Strong experience with MySQL and relational database management.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose for local and production environments.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD, including pipeline configuration for automated testing and deployment.
• Strong understanding of custom and existing authentication systems and API security best practices.
• Proficiency in writing unit tests (PHPUnit for PHP, testing tools for Go) and functional tests.
• Good documentation skills, particularly in describing database schemas, API endpoints, and deployment processes.
• Pre-Intermediate English level will be enough

Nice to Have

• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar).
• Familiarity with Redis for caching and session management.
• Experience in building scalable video streaming services.
