Description:

Building and designing large-scale enterprise software and technology in support of iLabor Networks’ digital web platforms implementing a service-oriented architecture. The Sr. Software Engineer plays a pivotal role in crafting a service interface and is responsible for leading a team of engineers building and designing applications & also assisting in product and tool selection for consistently redesigning/refactoring a product to adapt to our customer needs.

Basic Requirements:

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience at a strong level
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with small-mid teams on complex projects
• Happy to mentor more junior-mid developers
• Working ‘closer’ to USA Eastern time hours, fully remote
• Upper Intermediate English verbal and written

Interview Stages:

• After a successful resume/CV review, up to a 30-minute interview with the Engineering lead and Business lead.
• Online digitally proctored skills test, up to 60 minutes. It is OK if you are not strong in all skills and languages.
• Final interview to include results review.
• Job offer.

Responsibilities:

• Design/build and integrate systems that assist in staffing procurement and other enterprise systems, using underlying data sources and business logic.
• Work with product manager & product analyst to write and ensure user stories are valuable, developer-ready, easy to understand, and testable.
• Write clean and concise code that is stable, extensible, and scalable.
• Work with product manager & support teams to help define and prioritize product backlog and product enhancements.
• Take a broad view when approaching issues & the ability to fully communicate to a broad audience and lead root cause analysis.
• Lead and enforce modern application technologies, processes, and methodologies to continually craft and improve the application for speed, usability, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Contribute to maintenance, support, and roadmap of key digital technology solutions and platforms.
• Mentor, support, and guide team members, including code reviews, best practices, and pattern reviews.
• Lead and collaborate in geographically distributed teams in agile processes and delegate tasks to the team members. Relates openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people.

Skills:

• Building microservices in large-scale, highly transactional, and available technology platforms in cloud infrastructure
• Experience leading an engineering team and coordinating with the release management team. Experience in E-commerce Engineering of the staffing or accounting industry is a plus
• Strong knowledge of Java, Hibernate, Struts2, Kotlin Application Infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of CSS, HTML, Telerik UI, and JQuery Technologies.
• Strong knowledge of distributed services access protocol (such as REST, SOAP) and modern payloads (XML, JSON)
• Strong knowledge in source control, CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Sentry, DataDog, and cloud services (such as GCP, Azure, AWS), continuous monitoring and logging
• Strong in designing and building out microservices using technologies that include Java and Relational databases.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks for user and Authorization services and Authentication (OAuth, JWT, etc.)
• Heroku platform knowledge.
• Strong in data modeling within TSQL (such as Microsoft SQL Server)
