About the role:
We're looking for a talented Senior Data Engineer who is excited to tackle large cross-functional problems and make their mark on data quality. This tenacious engineer will help lead the architectural design of our data warehouse, focusing on supercharging data analytics capabilities, and optimizing data warehousing cost and runtime. An ideal candidate brings constant curiosity, a passion for data, and a deep understanding of the technologies behind data pipelines, warehousing, big data, and analytics. Prior experience successfully transitioning a company from startup to established is a big plus.

We might be a match if you…

• Have 6+ years industry experience, including 3+ years in a senior Data Engineering role architecting and implementing large-scale enterprise data solutions.
• Have expertise in SQL and strong proficiency in at least one major development language (Python or JavaScript preferred).
• Are a technical expert in the data space who questions the status quo, thrives on tackling complex data challenges, and uses challenges as an opportunity to drive innovative solutions across domains.
• Demonstrates a track record of creating significant impact by leading projects to improve data quality and optimization.
• Have superior ability to independently translate business needs into clearly aligned project requirements, technical designs, and reliable project outcomes.
• Focuses on the big picture and demonstrates good judgement, making technical trade-offs between short-term and long-term solutions.
• Are exceptional communicator who fosters a collaborative environment, and inspires and mentors' junior engineers.
• Are competent understanding and application of domain driven database design principles.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present complex technical ideas in simple terms.
• Have product mindset to understand business needs, continuously align on project outcomes, and implement scalable engineering solutions within committed timelines.
• Have proven track record of solving complex data engineering challenges in multiple companies and many domains, employing innovative or novel solutions.
• Have experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Have a very good command of English (written & spoken).
• Are available in the afternoons / evenings - due to collaboration with the United States, evening meetings may occur. Rest assured, we prioritize work-life fit, respect everyone's private lives, and don’t work at night but we still must ensure that communication between the time zones is effective.

You will get extra points for:

• Experience with DBT, Airflow, Bigquery.
• Experience with Salesforce data or actuarial insurance.
