Avenga is looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer in Europe to join our team. Our client is a leading global financial consulting company, one of the largest asset managers in the UK. The company’s line of business includes holding or owning securities of companies other than banks.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play an important role in building and maintaining our modern data platform. Your expertise in Snowflake, AWS, Python, PySpark, real-time data solutions, and software engineering will be crucial in driving our data initiatives forward.

What you bring along:

  • 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer;
  • Understanding of modern Data Platforms and Data Lakes;
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake;
  • Excellent in Python, PySpark;
  • Competent in RDBMS and NoSQL DBs;
  • Knowledge and practical experience with AWS serverless services;
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka and real-time processing frameworks;
  • Expertise in managing infrastructure with IaC tools (we are using Terraform);
  • Good at leading large-scale global data warehousing and analytics projects;
  • Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry, including MPP, Data Warehouse design;
  • English — at least an Upper-Intermediate solid.

This is your mission:

  • Build and maintain a cutting-edge data platform using technologies such as Snowflake, Python, and AWS services;
  • Build and optimize data pipelines, architecture, and data sets supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management;
  • Design data storage layer for both data lake and data warehouse;
  • Identify opportunities for internal process improvements, such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and infrastructure scalability;
  • Monitor the health and performance of queries;
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and other stakeholders to understand their requirements, provide data solutions, and effectively communicate insights or findings derived from Data.
