Project description

Our client, a leading language services provider for both public and private sectors, is seeking a Data Architect for a 5-6 week project (flexible hours). You will be enhancing our existing data structure to support the development of a new customer interface and application.

The role will involve a blend of application design, integration with current systems, and the creation of a new architecture to streamline operations. We’re looking for someone proactive, able to gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders, and translate them into effective technical solutions.

Required skills

— 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role;
— Deep understanding of data architecture principles, modeling, and management best practices;
— Strong experience with Java;
— Proficiency with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies;
— Experience with Azure Cloud Services (SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Data Lake, and Synapse Analytics);
— Knowledge of data privacy regulations, especially HIPAA;
— Proven ability to design and implement data flows for complex systems;
— Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills;
— Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Will be a plus:

— Experience with real-time data processing and analytics;
— Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions and architectures;
— Knowledge of microservices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes);
— Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Responsibilities

— Craft the data flow and architecture for our interpretation platform on Azure;
— Seamlessly connect the data architecture with frontend and backend systems;
— Develop and maintain a comprehensive data model that supports all platform features;
— Adhere to industry standards and data privacy regulations, including HIPAA;
— Work closely with backend developers to implement data storage and retrieval using Azure services;
— Optimize data architecture for scalability, flexibility, and maintenance within Azure;
— Design a data architecture that enables robust performance insights and reporting;
— Conduct assessments and implement validation processes;
— Document data architecture design and processes, ensuring clear and comprehensive
documentation for the team.
