The Content Capabilities team is tasked with the goal of furthering innovation and cohesiveness of the core Box experience. You will be combining existing File System and Metadata functionality, as well as brand new services to deliver a scalable, easy to use platform. With a roadmap of impactful new features, the Content Capabilities team has an exciting and challenging charter to enhance the experience of the millions of Box users.

As we embark on this journey, we’re looking for a Senior Engineer to join us and play a pivotal role. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a small team of talented, collaborative, and fun engineers, solving some of the toughest challenges, as we build out the future of content management in the cloud. The work you do will have an immediate impact on the productivity of millions of users, at some of the most important enterprises of our time.

**Our compensation structure is the base salary and equity in the form of restricted stock units.

WHO YOU ARE?

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of Software Development experience in distributed systems.
• You have experience designing, building, and deploying high quality software.
• You have a passion for building distributed client/server systems at large scale.
• Strong coder with demonstrated proficiency in languages like Java, Scala or C++.
• You are excited about solving complex technical problems using data-driven solutions.
• You act like an owner and strive to do work you’re proud of, both technically and in your team interactions.

BONUS POINTS FOR

• Having experience using or building high-scale distributed data stores.
• Having experience using high throughput messaging queues and/or streaming platforms (ex. Google Pub/Sub, Apache Kafka).
