About the project

TUI, is a global business with over 70,000 people on board, a great history and challenging plans for building a digital future. TUI is the largest leisure, travel and tourism company globally, and it owns travel agencies, hotels, airlines, cruise ships and retail shops.

You will join the Web, Engagement global team at TUI responsible for the Web technologies across all holiday products and all TUI regions which owns several web applications that serve millions of users per year, generating billions in revenue for TUI. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team of experts across Architecture, Engineering, DevOps, and Agile Delivery who are located, and also providing technical services, across the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Belgium, and The Netherlands. The project is a web platform (Hybris) and the client’s strategy is to embrace new technologies to prepare for the future and deliver for the now. The client is looking at moving to Modular Architecture which will provide benefits to the way we work along with delivering faster and more efficiently for our business and customers.

What you’ll do

• Be a part of a cross-functional team or a practice team that enables site reliability engineering skills and capabilities across a whole domain
• Work with your team to deliver the best answers to our customers’ needs and to take over full responsibility for its applications, from design to operation
• Strive for a high degree of automation, clean architectures, and high quality with a customer-centric mindset
• Select the right tools for the right jobs and thus solve the given business and technical problems in an efficient way
• Work in a cloud environment, especially AWS, and develop resilient and high-performing cloud-native applications
• Can tackle the whole cycle of designing, building, testing, and deploying software and contribute to increasing automation
• Together with the domain’s teams you also will research, evaluate, and test new approaches, processes and tools and help teams to use them effectively

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience in Rest API and micro services development, using programming languages such as JavaScript / TypeScript / Java / Kotlin
• Hands-on technical knowledge and delivery experience using AWS cloud services including S3, Cloud
• Formation, API Gateway, Lambdas, ECS Fargate, SQS and SNS
• Experience in API gateway, preferably AWS API gateway and APIGEE
• Experience in service design (SOA, Microservices, ESB’s)
• Solid understanding and practical knowledge of the full API development for backend development and software development lifecycle
• Experience in writing API specs using SWAGGER
• CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform and Gitlab source control experience desirable
• A good knowledge and experience of Agile, Scrum and Jira is essential
• Good understanding and practical knowledge of the full software development lifecycle; design patterns; architecture patterns; SOLID principles; Cloud technology; API maintenance; CI/CD and DevSecOps
• Passionate for software Security, Reliability and MaintainabilityUpper-intermediate or higher level of spoken and written English
