Senior AWS Ops Engineer in Global Grid For Learning

Global Grid for Learning (GG4L™) is a global educational technology company that is helping catalyze the digital transformation in education.

GG4L https://gg4l.com specializes in development of software applications and services for educational institutions in the USA and around the world. Ukrainian office is located in Rivne.

We are looking for an experienced Senior AWS Ops Engineer.

Requirements:

• Architect, build, and maintain robust IT infrastructure solutions with a strong focus on automation and efficiency.
• Design, implement, and optimize DevOps practices and tools to streamline the software delivery lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with development and operations teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code solutions using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using AWS ECS/EKS, Fargate, or Kubernetes.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain high availability and service levels.
• Conduct security assessments and implement measures to protect cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Optimize cloud resource utilization and costs through effective capacity planning and cost management strategies.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing IT infrastructure solutions in a high-tech environment.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience building and implementing DevOps solutions on AWS.
• Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Bash, YAML).
• Strong understanding of AWS services (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.) and security best practices.
• Expertise in infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Github, TeamCity, Puppet, AWS CodePipeline).
• In-depth knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS/EKS, Fargate).
• AWS security configuration management (AWS Security Hub, Inspector, Config, IAM, WAF, Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail)
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing protocols, subnetting, firewalls, load balancing, DNS,.
• Deep knowledge of AWS networking services: VPC, Subnets, Route Tables, Network ACLs, Security Groups, Internet Gateway, NAT Gateway, VPC Peering, Global Accelerator, Route 53.
• Hands-on experience with REST API, and IP-based protocols.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Will be a plus:

• Certifications in AWS (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
• Experience with Azure or GCP
• Knowledge of SQL and database administration (PostgreSQL)
• Experience with web servers (Apache, Nginx, Tomcat)
