Our customer is a leading German producer of customized solutions for the self-supply of solar-powered electricity. This includes photovoltaic, energy storage systems as well as cloud technology systems helping individuals to become energetically independent.

For the App team, we’re looking for a  Senior Android Developer  to lead a team of two Android developers in the engineering of an Android app based on a modern tech stack. Job description

• Development and optimization of the Android app 
• Development of new functionalities from technical analysis to implementation 
• Collaborate in an agile team with other developers, designers, POs, and testers 
• Perform code reviews, unit tests, and integration tests to ensure code quality 
• Documentation of development processes and system architecture 
• Operation of the created software systems 
• Carrying out code reviews and tests with your team members and assigned sparring partners, e.g. in pair programming 
• Ensuring the quality of your work and the work of your team through sufficient guidance, documentation and meaningful tests 
• Close collaboration and regular exchange with the Customer Experience, Backend, IoT, Embedded and Product Management department 
• Sharing knowledge with the aim of learning together and from each other

Requirements

• Kotlin 
• Microservices 
• Agile 
• English B2 

Key skills

• Completed studies in computer science or a comparable technical qualification 
• Several years of professional experience as an app developer in native Android (Kotlin in Android Studio) 
• Knowledge of modern development methods and tools such as micro-services, APIs, Spring Boot and Kafka 
• Skilled usage of Git, Jira and Confluence 
• Knowledge of agile software development and test-driven development 
• A high degree of personal responsibility and interest in teamwork 
• Ability to analyse and optimize existing code base within given guidelines 
• Ability to take responsibility for the implementation within the software life-cycle from architecture decisions to the delivery of the finished app releases and operation 
• Experience in dealing with the challenges of software engineering from conception to operation 

Nice to have

• Familiary with Xray, SonarQube to be able to connect with QA testing 
• Experience in iOS development or multi-platform environments (iOS / Swift in Xcode, Kotlin Multiplatform, Flutter)
