Senior Accountant in Project Growth

Our client is a financial consulting firm that focuses on helping social entrepreneurs grow their businesses. We’re seeking a Senior Accountant to join our client's growing team.This role is client-facing with numerous opportunities to grow within the firm as well as provide meaningful insights and value to our clients. The position is a hybrid of accounting, finance, and tax.Location: Fully-Remote (Work from Home), 9 AM - 6 PM ESTKey Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and adherence to relevant accounting standards. Work on multiple client accounts simultaneously, manage client expectations and interact with clients directly to get the needed information. Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes. Ensure proper coding and classification of transactions. Monitor key financial metrics and provide variance analysis. Continuously evaluate and streamline accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Identify opportunities for automation and implement best practices. Update management reporting schedules around key financial metrics. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial professionals as needed. Participate in special projects and initiatives as required. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or CPA equivalent certification requiredMinimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experienceStrong knowledge of US GAAP, tax regulations, and other accounting principles and standardsProficiency with accounting software and financial reporting toolsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to multitask and meet deadlinesAbility to work independently and collaboratively with others at all levels of the organizationStrong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and develop a teamAdvanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial software applications. Fluent in EnglishThe ideal candidate is proactive and intellectually curious, possesses the capability to work independently, strong attention to detail, exceptional analytical skills, and a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices.
