Job Description:

Working directly with the Director of the Representative Office in Ukraine on all issues related to safety and security. 

To do this job successfully, a person must be able to perform every important function.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and update specific security instructions and SOPs in conjunction with the Global Security Department as appropriate. 
  • Interact with local security organizations, local security agencies, police and other emergency services within Ukraine. 
  • Assist in registration of new employees, registration of International Medical Corps offices, guest and warehouse programs. Providing assistance in obtaining a permit to restricted access zones (for personnel and vehicles) for all populated areas of Ukraine, if possible. 
  • Interact and consult with Security Affairs Coordinators (SFPs) as needed
  • Monitor security measures within programs. 
  • Ensure that all International Medical Corps field personnel are familiar with the most common security threats and advise on mitigation measures to reduce personnel vulnerability to these threats. 
  • Ensure proper use of the internal incident tracking system. Performing limited incident imaging and analysis as needed. 
  • Work in conjunction with the International Medical Corps Logistics and Transportation Managers to ensure that all International Medical Corps drivers are aware of all aspects of the International Medical Corps driver policy. 
  • Manage, coordinate and execute all International Medical Corps guard duties, work schedules and attendance records where possible for all International Medical Corps Central and Southern locations. 

Perform other duties as required and directed by CD and the Global Security Department. 

Minimum Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years of work experience at the level of Security Specialist/Manager (Security Service, Police or Civil Defense). 
  • Excellent understanding of the security situation in Ukraine, with specific knowledge and understanding of the current conflict. 
  • Experience of safely and effectively performing security duties in difficult conditions. 
  • Practical experience and knowledge of assessing Risks, Threats and Factorsin Vulnerability, Conflict Mitigation and First Aid. 
  • Excellent negotiation skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to speak in public, respond appropriately to questions from senior managers and employees at a similar position level. 
  • High level of communication in English. Ability to read and write in English. 
  • Skills in creating reports and emails and sending to CD and DGS.
