ERC was established 22 years ago in Estonia and currently provides humanitarian assistance to displaced people and other vulnerable people in 5 crisis-affected countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Jordan and Turkey) and different support services to beneficiaries of international protection in Estonia. Our Mission is to stand for the rights and well-being of refugees and other vulnerable groups in Ukraine and abroad.We are looking for Security Junior Officer to join our international team!The Security Junior Officer position serves as the substantive and regular focal point for all safety and security matters pertaining to the Estonian Refugee Council’s operations in Ukraine. Furthermore, the Security Officer based at the Field Office in Dnipro liaises regularly with the country office of Estonian Refugee Council in Kyiv on regional security developments and provides critical input into the organization’s security management as related to the global portfolio of programmes.Responsibilities & Key TasksSecurity risk management throughout the territory of UkraineClosely monitor “early warning indicators” for increasing risk to ERC operations and staffProvide risk assessments for all travels throughout UkraineDeliver a mandatory “Security Briefing” for all new arrivals in ERCBrief at management meetings and Security Roundtables, as required by line managerHelp maintain their Hibernation, Relocation and Evacuation (HRE) plans for ZaporizhyaregionAssist projects in implementing safety-related recommendations following Site SecurityAssessmentsIdentify suitable hotels and transport hire companies and maintain an up-to-dateassessment of these in line with ERC security standardsMaintain good networks with UA security forces and security staff of INGOsAssist with planning and escorting ERC visits to the high-risk (RED) zone when requiredCoordinate safety and security trainings as required by line managerFollow precisely the current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring these areadhered to by all ERC staffCoordinate closely with project staff and track all ERC travelsManage security equipment as required by line manager and in accordance to ERCadministrative rulesHelp with transporting goods, if necessaryUse all available information (including current radio news on traffic conditions) to updatedaily knowledge of road conditions, current passable routes and locations, and shares thisinformation with other office driversQualifications:University degree in a relevant field (Social Science) or equivalent working experience.At least 1-year experience within security or another related field is essential (i.e. police / former military, DSNS and/or with an IO or NGO)Excellent understanding of everyday personal safety issues and current security context isessentialExcellent working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint is essentialVery good self-organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsLanguage skills: Ukrainian and Russian: native or bilingual proficiency; English: Upper-intermediate level desiredWhat do we offer offer:competitive salarysports compensation28 vacation daysinternational environmentLocation: Kyivwork from home afew days per monthofficial employmentsalary transferred twice per monthHow to applySend your CV and Cover letter in English with a title «Security Junior Officer» to email [email protected], also mention your salary expectations.Learn more about Estonian Refugee Council here: https://www.pagulasabi.ee/en/news
