Both job descriptions & performance objectives shall explicitly reflect the employee's contribution & impact to the triple bottom-line (people, planet, profit).JOB SUMMARY:The Director of Retail (US East Region) motivates and inspires a team of District Managers, Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers and Beauty Advisors to create an environment that ensures an exceptional customer experience across ~80 boutiques and 21 States on the East Coast of the US. The Director of Retail (US EAST Region) also maximizes productivity and profitability by supporting and implementing all strategic brand initiatives for their assigned region. This position reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer for US and Canada and is part of the Commercial Leadership team and Field Leadership Team.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Drive Sales, profitability and best in class customer experienceLead the execution of the market business plan to drive overall sales results and key performance indicatorsConduct effective and regular stores visits with an emphasis on the internal and external customer experience, while interacting with the customer on the sales floor and exhibiting selling behaviors Drive customer loyalty and new customer recruitment by creating an inspiring and engaging customer experienceLead with an entrepreneurial spirit that inspires out of the box thinking and shop owner mentality to impact business resultsKnows and manages the business through effective use of all sales and financial reportsAct as a liaison between the store team and the corporate office by providing insights and feedback to enable sales growth and revenue generating ideasRecruit, hire, train and retail top talentDevelop a market talent strategy that includes consistent networking/recruitment and succession planning, while mentoring and developing internal talentEstablish clear expectations and assess Store Managers' performance through consistent observation, feedback, coaching, store visits , touch bases and performance evaluationsEnsure that all teams are trained according to L'Occitane selling standards, product knowledge, Company guidelines and adhere to Company standards of integrity and ethicsLeadershipTakes accountability for delivering resultsFosters an environment of teamwork and collaboration within market and across all departmentsLeads with honesty, integrity, humility and demonstrates the L'Occitane core valuesBalances competing priorities with a recognition of what is criticalIs an effective listener that inspires trust and respect of direct reportsAble to effectively lead through and adapt to changeMerchandising and Operations:Achieve Company controllable business objectives including : sales, profitability, shrink, payroll throughout all stores and districtsEnsure proper standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and organization in all storesResponsible for ensuring the execution of all company visual and operational standards in order to provide an exceptional customer experience environmentIdentify and communicate opportunities to simplify and update policiesActively participate in the development and implementation of new initiatives and toolsAll other duties or projects as assignedKEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:Sales performance, conversion, new customer recruitment/retention, associate retention and time to fill, payroll management, inventory managementREQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION:Bachelor's Degree or similar work experience in retail business fieldEXPERIENCE:15+ years of progressive retail experience10+ years in a field management position5+ years of experience leading multi-state locations (ideally on the East Coast of the US) and a field team of similar scale and complexityExperience in beauty preferred SKILLS:Proven ability of delivering results through a high performing team of leadersStrong business & financial acumenExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)Proven record of people development and succession planningStrong organizational and agility skillsStrong problem solving skillsAbility to make sound judgment autonomouslyExcellent computer skills (Retail POS software and MS Office)Ability to travel to stores and participate in corporate meetingsPHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to work up to 8+ hours per day and be on his/her feet for extended amounts of timeMust be able to travel to up to 25% across the USMust be able to travel internationally as neededValid Driver's License and passport to travel is requiredThe compensation for this role ranges from $160K-$170K (based on skills, experience and with differentials applied if outside of NYC .)L'Occitane North America offers a competitive compensation package and a comprehensive benefit.
