QA Engineer (Hardware) in Ajax Systems

About the project We, Ajax Systems, create security systems and smart home devices. We want every home to become safe and reliable, and alarms to be technological, stylish and easy to use. We believe in the Internet of Things and smart security as its foundation. Ajax is a full-cycle company from idea generation and R&D to mass production and sales. We do everything: we produce physical devices (the system includes many different sensors and hubs), write firmware for them, develop the server part and release mobile applications. Automation team: The automation team develops software and hardware complexes (test stands) for testing each device in production process, they create machines and robots to automate assembly processes, as well as internal software for device firmware and production management at all stages — from assembly of circuit boards to packaging of finished products. In fact, the department is responsible for ensuring that production can deliver the highest quality product in the shortest possible time in a large volume. Thanks to their work, the defect rate in production is only 0.3 percent. Responsibilities: Improve the quality of our hardware and software products for firmware testing of devices in production Analyze requirements for testing devices, program functionality and test stands. Preparation of checklists, test cases , test plans Not just to find bugs, but with the help of logs, debugging tools and external manifestations to find out the causes of these bugs Conduct research on the operation of devices and programs, troubleshoot. It will be a plus: Knowledge of the version control system (git) Understanding of how the desktop and client are arranged server programsUnderstanding what a database is and how they are arrangedExperience of working with KVPiA or installation and adjustment of low-current systemsRequirements: Strong technical background (technical education)Knowledge and understanding of testing theory (who is QA, what does he do, and what techniques are there for this)Maintenance of documentation : compilation of test cases, user scenarios, checklists. The ability to correctly describe a bug report and manage the life cycle of a bug Working with bug tracking systems (Jira) The ability to work with databases and SQL queries Understanding the principle of operation of basic electronic components (resistor, capacitor, transistor...)
