QA engineer in StarWind

The StarWind company develops products for data storage, virtualization and data backup. Our solutions are simple, fast, and at the forefront of modern technologies. 15 years ago, we started working on software development, and at this moment we moved to the creation of complex hardware systems.

Now we have an open vacancy for the position of manual QA engineer for the project of virtual fault-tolerant storage based on the StarWind CVM appliance in Poland.

Our project:
StarWind CVM is a client - server virtualized storage, focused on working with VMware vSphere ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM hypervisors, delivered in the form of a virtual appliance. This software creates fault-tolerant and high-performance storage for functioning in virtualized environments. In fact, StarWind CVM “mirrors” data between hosts and thereby allows you to abandon traditional, expensive storage area networks (SAN), network attached storage (NAS) and other data storage solutions. The solution harmoniously integrates with the hypervisor, allowing to achieve ease of management and excellent performance.

Responsibilities:

• Execution various types of manual testing, including functional, regression, system, performance testing (functional, load and stress testing);
• Analysis of results taking into account the search for problems/errors, as well as direct participation in product design and development;
• Creation and maintenance of test documentation (test plan, checklist and reports on them);
• Setting tasks for the implementation of automatic tests, monitoring their execution and localization of the reasons for their failure.< /li>

 Requirements:

• Mandatory work experience of 1 year or more in the creation and administration of fault-tolerant VMware vSphere > Cluster
• Experience in network storage administration (SAN/NAS)
• Confident Linux user (preferably Ubuntu)
• Understanding how RAID arrays work
• Knowledge of client-server architecture (WebUI frontend and backend)
• Ability to identify and localize errors when working with software
• Able to read and understand technical documentation in English.

It will be relevant:

• Knowledge of mdadm, zfs on administration levels
• Experience with iSCSI, NVMe-oF protocols
• Experience with backup solutions Veeam Backup & Replication
• Experience with Python, PyTest
• Skills with MS Hyper-V, KVM
