ABOUT THE JOB
Project HOPE is an international NGO of more than 900 engaged employees and hundreds of volunteers who work in more than 25 countries, responding to the world’s most pressing global health challenges. General purpose of the position: Providing qualified psychological assistance to persons affected by the conflict. The activity is aimed at strengthening psychosocial well-being, restoring mechanisms for overcoming stress and preventing the development of mental disorders.
Responsibilities:
1. Provision of individual and group psychological assistance to children, adolescents and adults who are in a vulnerable situation.
2. Conducting psychological assessments, screenings and, if necessary, psychological diagnosis in accordance with professional competence.
3. Identification of persons with complex mental conditions and their timely referral to specialized specialists (psychiatrists, medical institutions).
4. Adherence to and implementation of protocols for prevention and response to sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), identification of victims and their safe referral to specialized services.
5. Ensuring strict confidentiality and ethical handling of all beneficiary information.
6. Ensuring an effective referral system to medical, social, protective and other relevant services in cooperation with state and partner organizations.
7. Conducting psychoeducational activities, support groups and activities to strengthen the psychosocial stability of the community.
8. Informing the community about the services of the MHPSS center, encouraging community members to visit the center.
9. Spreading knowledge among beneficiaries and stakeholders on mental health, child rights, child protection, gender equality and available support services.
10. Completing and maintaining operational monitoring and evaluation tools (questionnaires, case tracking forms, etc.).
11. Preparation of reports on the activity of the center.
Education:
Diploma in the field of psychosocial research; candidates with degrees in psychology, psychotherapy, medical psychology, or clinical psychology are preferred. 2-4 years of work experience
Use of scientifically based protocols (for example, CBT-techniques, art therapy, stabilization exercises)
Understanding of the IASC Guidelines on MNSPSP in emergency situations.
Experience of working in an international humanitarian organization is mandatory
Languages: Fluent in Ukrainian. Written and spoken English at an intermediate level and above will be an advantage
Psychologist Project HOPE Ukraine

Responsibilities:

3. Identifying individuals with complex mental disorders and referring them to specialists (psychiatrists, medical institutions) in a timely manner.
4. Compliance with and implementation of protocols for preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), identifying victims, and safely referring them to specialized services.
5. Ensuring strict confidentiality and ethical treatment of all information about beneficiaries.
6. Ensuring an effective referral system to medical, social, protection, and other relevant services in collaboration with government and partner organizations.
7. Conducting psycho-educational activities, support groups, and activities to strengthen the psychosocial resilience of the community.
8. Informing the community about the services of the MHPSS center, encouraging community members to visit the center.
9. Disseminating knowledge among beneficiaries and stakeholders about mental health, children's rights, child protection, gender equality, and available support services.
10. Completing and maintaining monitoring and evaluation tools (questionnaires, case tracking forms, etc.).
11. Preparing regular reports on the center's activities and analyzing results.
Education:
Degree in psychosocial studies; preference will be given to candidates with degrees in psychology, psychotherapy, medical psychology, or clinical psychology. Work experience: 2-4 years.
Use of evidence-based protocols (e.g., CBT techniques, art therapy, stabilization exercises)
Understanding of the IASC Guidelines on MNH in Emergency Settings.Experience working in an international humanitarian organization is required.
