Overall purpose of the role:

Psychologist’s primary role is to function as the general point of contact for all matters pertinent to Project HOPE’s interventions in Ukraine assigned regions related to evaluating, diagnosing, and treating people for mental, emotional, behavioral, educational, and developmental disorders.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Support the project team in the development and implementation of psychosocial support activities. 
  • Implementing the Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) protocol, identifying possible victims of SGBV and referring them to available services.  
  • Assisting and training staff members and resourceful people whenever necessary in order to enhance the scope of MH activities.  
  • Ensuring that all patient information is kept confidential.  
  • Mapping existing national and humanitarian mental health and psychosocial support services that are accessible to vulnerable population. Develop and maintain an efficient mental health and social service referral system in coordination with other government and/or partner agencies. 
  • Identification and case management of children and adults in need of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS). 
  • Performing psychological assessments, testing, and evaluation and Provide diagnosis. 
  • Making referrals to other support services for beneficiaries, in line with the specific needs identified and the range of services available. 
  • Ensuring the implementation and monitoring of all activities planned by the project within the targeted areas (active targeting, community sensitization, etc.) and in general of the organization’s activities in the project implementation areas. 
  • Filling in the working tools for identification and follow-up: surveys and follow-up sheets etc; 
  • Ensuring detailed information sharing about the evolution of the activities under his/her responsibility whenever requested. 
  • Writing periodical activity reports. 
  • Reporting, documenting and following upon problematic cases on a case-by-case basis in collaboration with the project team members. 
  • Promoting knowledge of child rights, child protection and gender issues among beneficiaries and other stakeholders. 

Education:

  • Psychosocial studies; candidate with degrees in Psychology/Psychotherapy/ Medical Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist preferred.
  • 4-5 years of experience.

Languages:

  • Fluency in local spoken languages. English (written and spoken) will be a big plus.

Psychologist at Project HOPE - Ukraine

General purpose of the position:The main role of the psychologist is to be the point of contact for all issues related to the interventions of Project HOPE in the regions of Ukraine regarding the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of people with mental, emotional, behavioral, educational and developmental disorders violations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support the project team in the development and implementation of psychosocial interventions.
  2. Implementation of the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) protocol, identifying potential victims of SGBV and referring them to available services.
  3. Assisting and training staff and resource persons to expand the scope of mental health activities (MH).
  4. Ensure confidentiality of all patient information.
  5. Mapping existing national and humanitarian mental health and psychosocial support services available to vulnerable populations. Development and maintenance of an effective mental health and social care referral system in cooperation with other government and/or partner organizations.
  6. Identification and case management of children and adults in need of mental health care and psychosocial support (MHPSS).
  7. Conducting psychological assessments, testing and examination, providing diagnosis.
  8. Referral of beneficiaries to other support services according to identified needs and available spectrum services.
  9. Ensuring the implementation and monitoring of all planned actions of the project in the target areas (active identification, joint community awareness, etc.).
  10. Completing work tools for identification and monitoring: surveys and tracking sheets, etc.
  11. Detailed information exchange on the development of actions for which he is responsible, upon request.
  12. Preparation of periodic activity reports.
  13. Reporting, documentation and resolution of problem cases on on an individual basis in cooperation with members of the project team.
  14. Dissemination of knowledge about children's rights, child protection and gender issues among beneficiaries and other stakeholders.

Education:

Diploma in the field of psychosocial research; candidates with degrees in psychology, psychotherapy, medical psychology, or clinical psychology are preferred. Work experience of 4-5 years. 

Languages: written and spoken English at an intermediate level and above. Fluency in Ukrainian.
