POSITION OBJECTIVES

Under the supervision of the Protection Field Coordinator (MHPSS/GBV), the Protection officers will work in the Women in girl safe space for the multi-sectoral emergency assistance for the most vulnerable conflict-affected people within the DCA/NCA Joint Country Programme (JCP).

The Protection Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day support of JCP’s protection activities in Ukraine including but not limited to ensuring that JCP’s protection policies and procedures are followed and implemented consistently.
 

Regardless of the content of this job description the employee is expected to participate in any task necessary for the organization always delegated by the manager.

Implementing the day-to-day GBV activities in the assigned project location.

  • Providing GBV case management for women and girls in the WGSS
  • To ensure the development and implementation of GBV programs on the main Protection topics, awareness raising, women empowering, etc in the WGSS.
  • Ensure the organization of data, storage of information/documents on the number of registered cases/appeals about psychological/physical violence, etc.
  • Facilitation of trainings on GBV mainstreaming, and psychoeducational topics in the WGSS.
  • Conducting other activities aimed at preventing and responding to cases of gender-based violence
  • Creates and regularly updates reports of cases and outreach activities.
  • Submit timely project reports (monthly/ weekly) including quantitative and qualitative data to the upper management. 
  • Ensure proper use of forms and confidential referral follow up.
  • Strengthen the referral system to community institutions for the care of survivors of psychological/physical violence.
  • Promotes and takes an active part in quality improvement processes.
  • Responsible for the implementation of Protection activities, closely monitoring, evaluating, and reporting their development and flagging potential issues on time.
  • Able to travel to different partners in various locations in Ukraine.
  • Ensures implementation of case management and other intervention, referrals, follow-up in a timely manner.
  • The specialist is responsible for providing direct support to vulnerable women and girls and GBV survivors.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of mental health and psychosocial interventions in a humanitarian response context, tailored to care for Violence and Mental health.
  • Knowledge of the methodology of assessment, consultations, and provision of support to survivors
  • Communication and facilitation skills, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Soft skills: sincerity, responsibility, honesty, openness, desire to help, ability to evaluate people, empathy.
  • User of MS Office, Internet
  • English A2/B1

    Work related travels are expected in this position.

ОСНОВНІ ЗАВДАННЯ ПОСАДИ

Під керівництвом Координатора з питань захисту (MHPSS/GBV) спеціалісти із захисту працюватимуть у Безпечному просторі для жінок та дівчат, забезпечуючи багатосекторальну екстрену допомогу найбільш уразливим постраждалим від конфлікту людям у межах Спільної програми DCA/NCA (JCP).

Офіцер із захисту відповідатиме за щоденну підтримку діяльності JCP у сфері захисту в Україні, зокрема — за дотримання та послідовне впровадження політик і процедур JCP у сфері захисту.

Незалежно від змісту цього опису посадових обов’язків, працівник очікується брати участь у будь-яких завданнях, необхідних для роботи організації, за дорученням керівника.

Основні обов’язки

  • Реалізація щоденної діяльності у сфері GBV (гендерно зумовленого насильства) у визначеному місці проєкту.

  • Надання послуг із ведення випадків (case management) для жінок і дівчат у Безпечному просторі для жінок та дівчат (WGSS).

  • Забезпечення розробки та реалізації програм з питань GBV, підвищення обізнаності, розширення прав і можливостей жінок тощо в межах WGSS.

  • Організація та збереження даних/документів щодо кількості зареєстрованих випадof psychological/physical violence.

  • Conducting trainings on the integration of GBV and psychoeducational topics in WGSS.

  • Implementation of other measures aimed at prevention and response to cases of gender-based violence.

  • Preparation and regular updating of case reports and field visits activities.

  • Submission of weekly/monthly reports (quantitative and qualitative data) to management.

  • Ensuring proper use of forms and confidential tracking of referrals.

  • Strengthening the system of referrals to community institutions to support victims of psychological/physical violence.

  • Active participation in improvement processes service quality.

  • Responsibility for the implementation of measures in the field of protection, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and timely identification of possible problems.

  • Readiness to travel to partner organizations in different regions of Ukraine.

  • Ensuring the timely implementation of case management, other interventions, referrals and follow-up.

  • Providing direct support to the vulnerable women and girls, as well as victims of GBV.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in the field of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) in a humanitarian context focused on helping victims of violence.

  • Knowledge of assessment, counseling and support methods for victims.

  • Developed communication and facilitation skills, ability to work effectively with people.

  • Personal qualities: sincerity, responsibility, honesty, openness, willingness to help, empathy, ability to understand people.

  • Computer literacy: MS Office user, Internet.

  • English level: A2/B1.

  • Willingness to travel.
