For more information, visit the website: http://www.icrc.org/.About the jobThe ICRC Protection Unit recruits a Protection of Family Links (PFL) Field Officer 3to be based in its office in Lviv.In close cooperation with the Protection team in Ukraine, the PFL Field Officer 3 will mainly be responsible for designing, carrying out, monitoring, and evaluating ICRC PFL activities in a given Area of Responsibility (AoR). The Protection of Family Links Field Officer 3 usually manages three to five Protection Field Officers directly. As a team, s/he receives and processes tracing inquiries from families of missing persons, collects tracing requests, undertakes tracing activities to search for missing persons, and ensures the proper follow-up of the missing cases and family enquirers under his/her responsibility.Start date:As soon as possibleYour Tasks and ResponsibilitiesCarry out Protection of Family Links activities in the AoR based on the Delegation’s PFL strategy, guidelines, and way forwardUndertake analyses of the PFL caseload, propose courses of action to the PFL coordination, and implement themSupport the identification of key actors involved in the response in favor of missing/captured persons and their familiesAct as a focal point for matters related to the protection of family links and missingSupervise a team of Field Officers and provide them with technical support, including opening tracing requests, regular follow-up on individual cases, and with families of missing/captured and authoritiesEnsure that all data are duly and timely enteredEnsure understanding and regular exchange with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) and support data qualitative input in coordinationPlan, organize, and lead dissemination sessions vis-a-vis family associations and families of missing/captured persons to raise awareness about ICRC’s PFL action, to understand their holistic needs better, and to ensure proximity with the affected populationPlan, design, and conduct joint URCS/ICRC PFL Needs Assessments, as relevant, to define, plan, implement, and monitor appropriate PFL actionCoordinate closely with URCS PFL focal points to ensure coherent messages/approaches, including the involvement in outreach activities with families of missing and engagement with authorities (dissemination sessions, etc.)Ensure synergies and proactive engagement with other operational departments, including internal referrals What we offer youEmployment contract according to Ukrainian labor lawFlexible working arrangementsAnnual paid 20 working days' vacationCompetitive gross salary between UAH 70,000and 102,000 before taxationMedical insurance for employees and familyICRC Institutional trainingIndividual development covered by ICRCForeign language coursesConvenient office location in the city centerAbout youTo be successful as a PFL Field Officer 3 in the Protection Unit, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in UkraineUniversity degree or relevant professional experienceTypically, 6-9 years of overall professional experienceBetween 3 to 4 years previous experience as a social worker or similar2 to 3 years’ ICRC experience in the field of PFL or similar experience with other international organizationsProven experience in leading and managing protection activities or projectsSelf-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principlesFlexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learnAbility to work independently, as well as effectively under supervisionConfidence in managing projects and staffAbility to organize and prioritize multiple tasksAbility to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environmentInterested?
