The international charity fund Caritas of Ukraine invites to its team a Project Officer (WASH),who will be responsible for the daily operational coordination of the project's WASH activities, implementation support at the local level and interaction with internal departments.
Main responsibilities:
Operational support for WASH project management:
- Providing daily operational support for the implementation of WASH activities in cooperation with local Caritas organizations.
- Coordinating the implementation of current tasks between the national project team, technical specialists and local teams.
- Tracking the status of the implementation of planned activities, adherence to schedules and operational agreements.
- Timely informing Project Managers and Sector Lead Expert WASH about operational delays, risks or the need for adjustments.
Interaction with local organizations:
- Is the main contact person for local organizations on operational issues of implementing WASH activities.
- Supporting local teams in implementing project procedures, reporting formats and internal requirements.
- Facilitating the coordination of operational decisions between local organizations and the national level.
Document circulation and operational support:
- Ensuring the collection, verification and initial processing of operational documentation (requests, acts, technical materials, confirmation of completed works).
- Supporting the systematization of project documentation in accordance with the internal procedures of the organization.
- Preparation of operational summaries and short updates on the status of implementation of WASH activities.
Coordination with functional divisions:
- Work in close coordination with procurement, finance and technical teams to ensure smooth implementation.
- Support coordination of technical, logistical and administrative processes within the WASH component of the project.
- Contribute to the timely launch of procurement and execution of operational implementation stages.
Supporting project implementation control
- Assists in monitoring compliance with operational standards and procedures for the implementation of WASH activities.
- Participation in the preparation of materials for internal audits, monitoring visits and managementsolutions.
- Involvement in field visits to support implementation and resolve operational issues (as needed).
Requirements:
- Higher education in social sciences or related
- Additional education, or courses in project management, humanitarian aid or WASH (will be an advantage).
- Experience in project activities of 2 years or more (humanitarian, development or infrastructure projects).
- Experience in coordination with several teams or partners (local organizations, contractors, experts).
- Practical experience in keeping documentation, tracking activities, training workers reports.
- Knowledge of languages: Ukrainian - fluent, English - B2 level (oral and written; for work with donors, reporting and internal coordination).
- Confident use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), tools for online meetings.
Necessary knowledge and skills:
Knowledge:
- Principles of project cycle management.
- Logic of implementation of WASH activities.
- Internal coordination between programmatic, technical, financial and MEAL functions.
- Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) principles.
- Sphere, CHS humanitarian standards.
Skills:
- Planning and tracking project activities.
- Working with tables, trackers, plans and registers.
- Preparation of working analytical materials and reporting contributions.
- Business communication with local teams and technical specialists.
- Working with large volumes of information and meeting deadlines.
Personal qualities:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Responsibility, attention to detail, systems thinking.
- Ability to work in a team and support the work processes of others.
