Crisis in Ukraine

HelpAge has been working in Ukraine since 2014. Our team consists of more than 800 people, including employees, volunteers and contractors.  Our response plan includes the provision of cash assistance, distribution of food and non-food items, health and dignity kits, hygiene and care products, support in access to health services, care, psychological and psychosocial first aid.

Main responsibilities:

  • coordination of the work of a team of social workers in accordance with project performance criteria, goals and objectives of the project;
  • organization of interaction with local authorities, social institutions, public organizations, international humanitarian organizations;
  • ensuring the provision of services provided for by the project to beneficiaries;
  • control of the involvement of new project beneficiaries by social workers in accordance with vulnerability criteria;
  • ensuring of informing project beneficiaries through social workers about the availability of services and assistance for the population affected by the conflict (medical, psychological, legal, social), which can be obtained from partner organizations and other institutions;
  • providing timely and accurate reports on activities and all necessary documentation;
  • forming and maintaining a database of beneficiaries and/or project activities;
  • holding working meetings with social workers to plan activities and solving organizational issues;
  • ensuring monitoring the delivery of humanitarian aid to the beneficiaries of the project and reporting on distribution;
  • timely informing the manager about problems orrs-major circumstances that arose in the project and may interfere with its implementation;
  • collection of information and photos for writing success stories and various researches within the framework of the project;
  • participation in trainings and other educational events that increase the level of knowledge about communication and assistance to the elderly, organized by the Representation and other organizations.

Main requirements:

  • higher education in the field of social work or related fields;
  • at least one year of work experience in national or international non-governmental organizations in the humanitarian field or in national social services;
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:

  • presence of training or experience in the field of social work;
  • experience working with the elderly and/or people with disabilities;
  • knowledge of international humanitarian standards.
