The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager for humanitarian projects. Reporting to the Project Office Lead and Program Director, the Project Manager will ensure successful project implementation funded by USAID and BHA through project management and monitoring across all project stages, ensuring overall quality. Success in this role will require close and effective collaboration with project donors, internal departments, and a strong understanding of project and program management cycles. 

The main aims of URCS with the assistance of IFRC under this project will be to improve access to lifesaving and protection services for the target population including, awareness raising, trainings of the aid workers and psychosocial support activities. Improve basic conditions for those most at risk, including women, households with minors, elderly individuals and people with disabilities by providing cash assistance. Lastly, enhancing the capacities of the URCS on Humanitarian Coordination, Information Management, and Assessments (HCIMA), to allow URCS to better respond and protect the individuals they serve. 

Essential Tasks:

Project Management  

  • Participate in the planning and development of the project implementation process and proactively monitor progress, addressing issues and initiating appropriate corrective actions in coordination with technical leads and partners. 
  • Manage the project(s) (control the budget, timelines, and achievement of goals together with technical departments, ensuring effective allocation and expenditure of funds in accordance with financial requirements of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society and donors). 
  • Coordinate the activities of technical departments and provide them with support to ensure high project quality, review and consolidate project reports, communication materials, and other reports as required by the contract with the donor(s), ensuring their timely submission. 
  • Communicate with donor(s) representatives regarding project results, changes, and progress. 
  • Collaborate with PMER to ensure the implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and accountability processes that incorporate feedback in the development of the project(s). 
  • When necessary, facilitate, coordinate, and participate in assessments, conferences, seminars, communities of practice, or other events related to the support of the project(s). 
  • Ensure the relevance of project documentation 

Donor/s support  

  •  Communicate and coordinate the provision support, from URCS units . This may include a process of identifying support needs, developing plans, and overseeing their delivery 
  • Participating and facilitation in the new project development and proposal development considering the URCS strategy 

 Other tasks 

  • Participate in meetings for developing and improving the project management approaches and business processes enterprise 
  • Participating in other matters linked to the PMO operate 

Requirements

Required Knowledge 

  • Higher education or equivalent (in project/program management or related fields, particularly in social sciences  is preferable) 
  • Experience in project management in humanitarian crisis settings or development contexts. 
  • Understanding of key humanitarian response practices and standards, such as SPHERE and others. 
  • General financial, administrative, information, and telecommunications skills, as well as IT/computer skills.  
  • Previous experience working in a non-governmental organization in a similar role or with international donors such as ECHO, USAID, OCHA, BHA, FCDO, or others is mandatory. 
  • English language proficiency at B2 level or above is mandatory 

Core Skills 

  • Project management, including planning and scheduling, process development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. 
  • Ability to influence and negotiate, implement changes, and provide remote support. 
  • High communication skills. 
  • Excellent report writing skills.

Підзвітний керівнику Проєктного офісу та Програмному директору, менеджер проєктів має забезпечити успішну реалізацію проєкту за фінансування USAID та BHA шляхом управління та моніторингу проєкту на всіх етапах проєктного циклу, забезпечуючи загальну якість. Responsibilities:

Project Management 

  • Participate in the planning and development of the project/projects implementation process, as well as proactively monitor progress , solving problems and initiating appropriate corrective actions in coordination with technical departments and donor/donors
  • Manage project/projects (monitor budget, timelines, achievement of goals together with technical departments, ensuring effective allocation and spending of funds in accordance with financial requirements of the TCHU and the donor/donors). 
  • Coordinate the activities of technical departments and provide them with support to ensure high quality of the project, review and consolidation of project reports, communication materials and other reports provided for in the contract with the donor/donors, ensuring their timely submission. 
  • Communicate with donor/donor representatives regarding project/project results, changes, and progress. 
  • Cooperate with PMER to ensure implementation of monitoring, evaluation and accountability processes that ensure feedback is taken into account in the development of the project/projects. 
  • As necessary, facilitate, coordinate and participate in evaluations, conferences, workshops, communities of practice or other activities related to the support of the project/projects. 
  • Control the relevance of the documentation of the project/projects. 
This may include the process of identifying support needs, developing plans and overseeing their implementation. Other tasks:

  •  Participation in meetings to develop and improve project management approaches and business processes of the enterprise
  • Participation in other matters related to the activity Project office

Requirements:

Necessary knowledge

  • Higher education or its equivalent (preferably in the field of project/program management or related fields, particularly in the social sciences)
  • Experience in managing projects in humanitarian crises or in a development context. 
  • Understanding of key humanitarian response practices and standards such as SPHERE and others. 
  • General financial, administrative, information and telecommunication skills, as well as information technology skills.  
  • Previous experience working in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity or with other international donors such as ECHO, USAID, OCHA, BHA, FCDO or others is a must. 
  • English language at the level of B2 and above is mandatory
