DRB has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRB has more than 700 employees in Ukraine and in 2024 the organization will continue a significant expansion to implement emergency response in the areas of social and legal protection, livelihoods, and recovery housing/non-food goods, humanitarian disarmament and peace-building (humanitarian mine action), through direct intervention as well as support to civil society organizations (CSOs) and partnership with CSOs.
DRB is currently looking for a Social and Legal Protection Project Manager for its activities in Sumy.
General purpose of the role:
You will be responsible for managing social and legal protection activities in the city of Sumy and Sumy region. This position will report to the Administrative and Program Manager of the DRB office in Sumy under the technical supervision of the Protection Coordinator and the Regional Program Manager.
Your main responsibilities will be:< /p>
Management and implementation of projects in the direction of social and legal protection.
- Coordination, planning of all project activities related to social and legal protection, including monitoring of needs, assistance in individual protection, dissemination of information, community capacity building, psychosocial support, measures to prevent and respond to gender-based violence and legal assistance.
- Support, constant communication and coordination of work with partner DRC organizations, if present, UNHCR and other humanitarian organizations implementing social and legal protection programs in the area of responsibility.
- Ensuring the highest quality of sectoral activities and coherence between all projects, current and proposed, in accordance with the general strategies.
- Management of programs from the point of view of high-quality and timely deployment, preparation of reports and management of financial issues, close cooperation with donors, government partners and coordination mechanisms on the ground, ensuring synergy with other DRB programs in the region.< /li>
- Formalization and development of operational tools and training of project-related personnel.
- Providing data for monthly, quarterly and annual donor reports.
- Ensuring overall monitoring budget, financial management and cost control for program activities, including compliance with minimum requirements of DRB and donors.
Program development and strategy:
< li>DSB representation and active participation in sectoral and relevant sub-sector/working groups.- Oversee knowledge sharing between teams and ensure understanding and use of monitoring and evaluation results for program improvement.

Reportability:
- Guided by the DSB Program Manual, continuously monitor and develop relevant accountability initiatives within the framework of the relevant project programs, as well as strengthen documentation of the impact of DSB activities
- Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements, including procurement.
Team management:
- Recruit and manage social and legal protection project staff;
- Provide regular provide constructive feedback to direct reports and support performance management of team members;
- Assess training and development needs, develop and implement team capacity building plans.
Coordination:
- Ensure coordination with organizations implementing social and legal protection programs.
As a Manager, you will be responsible for the following :

Responsible for personnel management of direct subordinates, as a rule, at least 3 employees. This includes hiring and firing, goal setting, probationary period, performance evaluation, staff development, performance management, etc.Responsible for making informed decisions based on DRB policies, standards and advice from technical experts in DRB. li>About you:
To be successful as a Manager project on social and legal protection, we expect you to have at least 3 years of experiencework in civil society organizations, humanitarian organizations, non-governmental organizations or in social work or in general project management.
In addition, we also expect you to:
- Degree in law, human rights , social work, social sciences, humanities, management or other related field.
- Experience/knowledge in protection and human rights
- Prior experience managing programs and team members

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with vulnerable groups, employees and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in tongues.
- Strong sense of personal integrity and understanding of confidentialand ethics.
- Excellent writing and editing skills for external audiences (including governments and donors).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook/Exchange, Windows operating systems.
- Excellent skills reporting and defense analysis.
- Fluency in English is a must.
