Wedrive changes inpractice and policy atlocal, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.Wehave been building powerful partnerships for children for over 85 years, and are now active inmore than 80 countries.Role PurposeThe conflict inUkraine isresulting inamajor humanitarian crisis with over 4 million people having fled toneighbouring countries, and millions displaced within Ukraine. Plan International isresponding tothe crisis and working inpartnership with civil society organisations inUkraine, Poland, Romania, and Moldova tomeet the key needs ofthose affected bythe crisis aswell ashost communities.Plan International has been present in Ukraine since August 2022 and has established partnerships with civil society organisations, ensuring national actors are equipped with technical support, best practices, and flexible resources, with a primary thematic focus on Child Protection, Education, and Mental Health & Psychosocial Support.Dimensions ofthe RoleThe post-holder is responsible of the coordination of one specific institutional donor funded project, including but not limited to project start-up, project activity monitoring, partnership management, and project closure. The project is funded by Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).AccountabilitiesUnder the supervision of the Programmes Director, the Project Manager will perform the below main activities:Oversee partner implementation ofproject activities within the deadlines and standardsMake frequent monitoring trips tothe project areas tomonitor project activities, identify opportunities and constraints and make any necessary adjustments, including capacity strengtheningRegularly update the progress, priorities, and constraints ofproject implementationRepresent Plan ininternal/external meetingsEnsure that Plan’s child protection and safeguarding policy isrespected, and all cases ofabuse are reported and responded to.Guide the project implementation, including developing and update work plans, budgets and logical frameworks with responsibilities and mandatesMonitor performance ofthe partner teams and internal Plan staff assigned tothe projects toensure all milestones set inthe annual work plan are metImplement the project according toPlan’s and donor’s project cycle procedures and standardsEnsure that agreed roles and responsibilities between program stakeholders are fulfilled asper contractual obligationsWork together with the programs and finance staff toensure timely delivery ofhigh-quality reports that meet donor and Plan International standards and requirements.Conduct capacity building for national and partner staff inproject management and project implementation, supported byPlan’s technical Teams.Ensure that senior management, project and partner staff understand donor communication protocols and visibility requirements.Establish and ensure effective channels ofinternal and external communicationsKey relationshipsCountry Director, Programmes Director, Technical Specialists, and support staff (Finance and logistics); Local project partners; Ukraine Response Hub and Global Hub relevant teams; relevant colleagues inPlan GermanyTechnical expertise, skills, and knowledgeEssential KnowledgeUniversity degree (Master) inrelevant fieldProven experience with anInternational orlocal NGOProven experience with projects funded byinternational donors (experience with German institutional donors GFFO orBMZ will beanasset)Good knowledge and understanding ofhumanitarian principles and establishedExperience ofimplementing projects ineducation, SRHR, child protection, Mental health and psychosocial support, cash and voucher assistance, gender and participatory approach will beanassetEssential SkillsStrong strategic decision-making and communication skills including reporting and presentationExcellent written and verbal communication skills inUkrainian and English;Demonstrated ability ofteamwork, coordination, and planningKnowledge ofusual office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and regular communication channels (Teams, email, Skype).Essential BehavioursCommitted toPlan International’s strategy and valuesExperienced with working incollaboration with Senior ManagementTeam player and relationship builderAble towork calmly under extreme pressure, volatile & insecure environment and atunpredictable (long) hours during emergency responseWorks well inand promotes teamwork, comfortable inamulti-cultural environmentCommunicator; Promotes innovation and learning; Communicates clearly and effectively; Strong team building and motivational skills; Demonstrates clear respect to all and especially children and women without discriminationDemonstrates honesty and transparency inholding self and others toaccount todeliver onagreed goals and Plan’s standards ofbehaviourPlan International’s Values inPracticeWeare open and accountableWecreate aclimate oftrust inside and outside the organisation bybeing open, honest, and transparent.
