ASB Ukraine mission is recruiting a Project Manager to take the lead in the implementation of a long-term BMZ-funded project. BMZ is the German donor funding transitional assistance and development projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for the management and timely implementation of ASB?s transitional assistance project in close collaboration with ASB Ukraine?s Head of Programs. ASB Project Manager reports to the Head of Program. People under PM supervision are Project Officer and/or Project Assistant. S/he is responsible for timely monthly, interim and final reports of the project. S/he coordinates activities with local partners, clusters, authorities as well as ASB Log, admin, finance and MEAL departments. 

Duration:   12 months (possibility of extension)

Start:          Earliest possible 

Location:   Lviv or Kyiv

Key responsibilities:

 

Project Manager

  • Coordinate overall implementation of the project activities and ensure ASB and donor’s requirements are met.
  • Properly plan project activities as per approved project documents and adjust project in coordination with HoP, if necessary.
  • Check the project progress/results against project goals and targets. 
  • Prepare and timely submit narrative reports to HoP/CD. 
  • Timely keep informed HoP and CD on any challenges/difficulties in the project implementation processes. 
  • Coordinate with the UN clusters, including attending the cluster meetings and reporting to the relevant Clusters and/or Working Group(s). 
  • Ensure that project activities are in line with recommendations of relevant Clusters and/or Working Group(s), humanitarian standards and Donor’s regulations. 
  • Coordinate with implementing partners regarding project design, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Coordinate with and participate in meetings with local authorities and other stakeholders
  • Participate in ASB internal meetings and update HoP and CD about progress of the project implementation.
  • Contribute to budget revision and forecast for relevant project in close collaboration with Finance Manager.
  • Contribute during needs assessment and new proposal development.
  • Coordinate visibility activities with PR Officer and Logistics and ensure all visibilities are in line with ASB and donor requirements. 
  • Participate in recruitment of project staff.
  • Implement other tasks requested by line manager.

Key Requirements:

  • Fluent language skills in Ukrainian and English, strong communication skills
  • Working experience in the humanitarian sector
  • Background: project management, experience in project cycle management.
  • At least three years of relevant work experience in project management and coordination with partners
  • Expertise in preparing accurate reports and contribute to needs assessment and proposal development
  • Proficient knowledge of budget revision and forecasting
  • Experience with donor-funded projects (BMZ) is desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with and in multi-cultural teams
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently, organizational skills and attention to details
  • Good presentation skills, MS Office proficiency
  • Experience in staff recruitment and management
