Purpose of the position:The project coordination specialist in the city of Kherson will be responsible for the effective implementation of community involvement initiatives at the local level. The position involves close interaction with communities, coordination of activities, collection of feedback and implementation of participatory approaches, transparency and openness in accordance with the standards of the TCHU in the field of community engagement. 400">

  • Coordinating the implementation of the Community Engagement and Accountability (IAC) approach across projects and programs, particularly in four areas, including planning, technical support and monitoring
  • Building and maintaining effective engagement with local communities and partners, with an emphasis on information, mobilization and involvement in decision-making processes
  • Collection and analysis feedback from communities, promoting its consideration in project activities and strengthening transparency and accountability.
  • Main responsibilities:

    • Coordinate ESD efforts:
    • Oversee ESD integration, particularly in four areas, ensuring a people-centered approach in all activities
    • Assess communities:
    • Conduct thorough assessments using participatory research methods to identify needs, preferences and community priorities
    • Implement feedback mechanisms:
    • Manage community feedback mechanisms, promptly responding to all feedback and ensuring their systematic analysis to improve programs
    • Develop inclusive activities:
    • Plan activities involving community members, ensuring inclusive participation of all demographic groups, including marginalized
    • Perform operational responsibilities:
    • Distribute IOC materials: Raise awareness of gender-based violence (GBV), mental health, psychosocial support (GBVSP) and mine and explosive risks through the distribution of information, education and communication materials (IOC). Assist in the distribution of humanitarian aid, coordinate programs and support activities.

    Additional duties:

    • Ensure training of volunteers and their support to strengthen SSR practices in their work.
    • Coordinate work with interested partiesronami:Collaborate with local authorities and other stakeholders, ensuring community involvement and effective implementation of activities
    • Implement capacity building:Organize comprehensive training on EHS for staff and volunteers, focusing on building sustainable EHS competencies in the system TCHU.

    General duties:

    • Actively work to achieve the goals of TCHU
    • Follow the principles of the Red Cross movement and work accordingly to them
    • Perform any other work-related tasks and duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

    Requirements for the candidate:

    • Higher education in the field of social sciences, community development or related fields
    • Postgraduate education in the field of participatory methodologies or monitoring and evaluation
    • Experience of working with vulnerable communities or affected population groups in the fields of community development, social work, communications or related fields
    • Experience of working in the Russian Red Cross, Red Cross Crescent and an international humanitarian or development organization would be an advantage
    • Experience with group, field and desk research methods would be an advantage
    • Skills in collecting, analyzing and reporting qualitative and quantitative data for monitoring and evaluation purposes
    • A clear understanding of community feedback mechanisms and accountability systems would be an advantage
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, and a good level of computer literacy
    • Fluency in spoken and written Ukrainian.
    • Good command of English will be an advantage.

    • Implement capacity building:
    • Roll out comprehensive CEA training for staff and volunteers, focusing on building sustainable CEA competencies across the URCS.

    Candidate Requirements:

    • A degree in social sciences, community development, or related fields.
    • Postgraduate qualification in participatory methodologies or monitoring and evaluation.
    • Experience working with vulnerable communities or affected populations in community development, social work, communications, or a related discipline.
    • Experience within the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement and an international humanitarian or development organization.
    • Experience in participatory research methods, field research, and desk research.
    • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and reporting for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
    • Strong understanding of community feedback mechanisms and accountability systems.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a good level of computer literacy.
    • Ukrainian language proficiency.
    • English language proficiency will be an advantage.
