Program manager (WaSH direction) in IsraAID

IsraAID was founded in 2001. It is a non-profit non-governmental organization dedicated to life-saving disaster relief and long-term support. For more than a decade, our teams of medical professionals, post-traumatic stress disorder experts, and community activists have been on the front lines of nearly every humanitarian response in the 21st century. As of 2024, we operated missions in more than 55 countries.

Our mission is to effectively support and meet the needs of populations that are changing, in his efforts to move from crisis to reconstruction/rehabilitation, and eventually to sustainable living.

The vacancy of the WaSH program manager in the IsraAID team in Ukraine requires the candidate to effectively manage the implementation of water supply, sanitation and hygiene projects, ensuring their timely implementation and compliance with the budget. The manager will be responsible for analyzing the situation in the region to determine priorities and plan interventions, as well as developing WaSH program strategies and managing a team of specialists to ensure maximum productivity and impact on the work process.

DUTIES AND AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Oversee the implementation of IsraAID's WaSH projects, ensuring that all project objectives are met on time and within budget
• Keep a finger on the pulse of the dynamic situation in the region in order to prioritize and plan interventions that make the influence. 
• Develop a strategic plan for WaSH programs and support the development and design of program documents / proposals (logic frameworks, Gantt charts, concept statements, etc.) together with IsraAID in-country experts, under the full guidance and coordination of the Head of Mission.  
• Participate in WASH cluster meetings and strategic meetings (supporting the Head of Mission), represent and promote IsraAID, identifying opportunities for WaSH interventions. 
• Responsible for professional reporting and documentation of WaSH sector activities within the IsraAID response in Ukraine through the use of online platforms and in accordance with HQ guidelines.   
• Maintain all purchases related toWaSH. 
• Represent the views and mission of IsraAID at the national and municipal levels in accordance with the organizational views and under the full direction of the Head of Mission and IsraAID Headquarters. 
• Manage a team of engineers and technologists to maximize productivity and scope of work.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCES

• Experience in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) or similar humanitarian programs.
• Deep understanding and experience project management, including planning, execution, monitoring and reporting.
• Ability to analyze complex situations and make decisions under limited time and resources.

• High team management skills and the ability to motivate employees to achieve goals.
• Knowledge of project planning and monitoring tools (eg logic frameworks, Gantt charts).
• Excellent communication skills to communicate with a variety of stakeholders, including partners, government agencies, and community organizations.
• Ability to work effectively in conditions of unexpected changes.
• High level of English (knowledge of other languages ​​will be an advantage) for effective communication with international colleagues and partners.
