Program Description:

Building Public Trust Project (UCBI - 4) of the Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI) of the United States Agency for International Development ( USAID) is designed to facilitate a united, democratic and Europe-oriented recovery of Ukraine from the consequences of the Russian invasion. This goal will be achieved through three initial tasks: 1. Strengthening the transparency and accessibility of recovery processes that reflect local priorities in the most war-affected regions. 2. Strengthening ties between the territories temporarily occupied by Russia and other parts of Ukraine. 3. Promoting the involvement of citizens of the frontline and liberated regions in the life of their communities in order to strengthen their stability and build a better future.

Internship information:

Under the supervision of the supervisor, the intern will be involved in the day-to-day work of UCBI 4 and will have the opportunity to gain a first-hand understanding of international technical assistance. The internship will provide technical and soft skills development, as well as provide opportunities for professional development and networking.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participation in all activities and internship events during working hours
  • Keeping trackers, assigning and participating in meetings with partners, taking notes of meetings, uploading documents
  • < li>Willingness to become familiar with the business cycle and everyone's role in it through interaction with other teams
  • Research and review of grantees' past projects, activities and key personnel
  • Provide support with situation reports ( new trends, news, events) related to political, social, cultural and economic factors within the portfolio.
  • Familiarization with USAID rules and regulations and the policies and procedures of the Kimonix company
  • < li>Provide support with data collection and coordination of program-related requests
  • Maturity, reliability, integrity, initiative in international development research.

  • Must have proven analytical skills and understanding of local, regional and national political context, the ability to think creatively
  • Compulsory fluency in the Ukrainian language - in oral and written forms
  • Compulsory fluency in the English language - in oral and written forms

    Program Description:

    The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI) Ukraine Confidence Building Initiative 4 (UCBI 4) aims to support advancing Ukraine's unified, democratic, and Europe-oriented recovery from Russia's invasion. This goal willbe met through three program objectives: 1. To strengthen resilience and accelerate short-term recovery in frontline and liberated communities; and 2. To reinforce connections between people in the temporarily occupied territories with the rest of Ukraine.

    Internship Overview:

    Under the direction of a supervisor, the intern will be integrated into the daily work of the UCBI 4 project and will have an opportunity to gain firsthand understanding of international technical assistance. The internship will build hard and soft skills and will provide professional development and network building opportunities.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Participate in all internship activities and events scheduled during normal business hours
    • Maintain trackers, schedule and participate in meetings with partners, take meeting notes, upload documents
    • Invest time and effort in understanding the activity cycle and everyone’s role in it through relationship building with other teams
    • Research and verify grantee past projects, performance, and key personnel
    • Support with reporting on atmospherics (emerging trends, news, and developments) that relate to the political, social, cultural, and economic dynamics within the portfolio.
    • Become familiar with USAID rules and regulations and Chemonics policies and procedures
    • Support with data collection and coordination on program related requests
    • Demonstrates maturity, dependability, integrity, and initiative to learn the international development field.

    Requirements:

    • Students currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree going into the last year of their studies, master’s or specialist degree
    • Demonstrated interest in specified field
    • Ability to work on a team and independently on projects and tasks
    • Ability/willingness to learn and further professional development
    • Demonstrated analytical ability and understanding of local, regional, and national political context, with the ability to think creatively required
    • Fluent written and oral Ukrainian required.
    • Proficient written and oral English required.
