Job Summary
The WASH Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, quality assurance and reporting of the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programs. The position ensures the technical validity of WASH interventions, their compliance with donor requirements and national standards, as well as effective response to the needs of affected communities while simultaneously promoting stability, dignity and sustainability.
Main job duties:
1. Coordination and implementation of programs
Coordination of planning, implementation and monitoring of WASH projects in accordance with approved project proposals, budgets and work plans.
Ensuring timely implementation of WASH activities, including water supply systems, sanitation facilities, hygiene promotion activities and emergency WASH responses.
Interaction with field teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of projects.
Ensuring integration of cross-cutting themes such as protection, gender equality, inclusion and accountability to affected communities (AAP).
2. Technical Leadership and Capacity Development
Provide technical expertise and advice on WASH interventions, particularly in the areas of water supply, sanitation, hygiene promotion and solid waste management.
Constantly track current best practices and innovations in the WASH sector.
Participate in the development of technical guidelines, tools and resources.
3. Team management and coordination
Evaluating employee performance and providing ongoing feedback to team members.
Ensuring effective communication and coordination within the WASH team, as well as with other program areas.
Representing the organization at relevant WASH coordination platforms, forums and workshops groups.
Coordination with local authorities, UN agencies, non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders in order to effectively implement programs.
4. Reporting and documentation
Ensuring timely and high-quality preparation of narrative and technical reporting for donors and partners.
Participating in the development of project proposals, concept notes and preparing budgets for new WASH initiatives.
Maintaining accurate and complete project documentation, including contracts, technical documentation and correspondence with donors.
5. Financial managementprocurement and procurement
Development and management of program budgets for the purpose of efficient and rational use of resources.
Monitoring program expenditures and ensuring correct financial reporting.
Qualification requirements

Master's degree in civil engineering, environmental health, public health or related field.
At least 3 years of WASH program management experience in a humanitarian context.
Basic technical knowledge of WASH interventions, including water, sanitation and hygiene promotion.
Proven experience in project management, including planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Ability to work effectively in challenging and hazardous environments.
Fluency in English (oral and in writing).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office package.
Knowledge of humanitarian principles and standards (in particular Sphere Standards).
Physical requirements
Ability to work under increased physical load if the context requires it.
Readiness for frequent and prolonged business trips.
Working conditions
The position involves working in m. Kyiv with regular trips to project locations (Zaporizka, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Donetsk oblasts). The work environment can be challenging and include exposure to extreme weather conditions, improper sanitary conditions and security risks.
