Alliance UA CSO is an initiative group, and think tank, focused on ensuring local leadership in responding to humanitarian crises and setting the foundation for recovery processes in Ukraine. 16 Ukrainian CSOs united around this idea representing various areas of work of Ukrainian civil society — from humanitarian to capacity building and development.

The program manager oversees the projects of a nonprofit organization helps the nonprofit reach its stated goals and will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the Alliance UA CSO's programs and projects. You will oversee program development, manage program budgets, and monitor program effectiveness. You will work closely with a team to ensure the smooth execution of programs while fostering positive relationships with stakeholders. Your strong leadership and strategic thinking skills will be crucial for identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.

Criteria for Evaluating Effectiveness:

1. Interpersonal skills provide the ability to be a powerful and efficient communicator. 

2. Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively engaging with and building relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and international organizations.

3. Program Success: Design and implement your program activities are the actions that you take to deliver your program outputs, outcomes, and impact. 

Essential Tasks: 

  • Develop and implement program strategies and action plans to achieve program goals and objectives
  • Manage program budgets, including tracking and reporting on expenses
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and maximize program impact
  • Supervise and support program staff, providing guidance and coaching as needed
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement
  • Monitor program outcomes and prepare regular reports for management and funders
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities to sustain and expand program initiatives
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in nonprofit program management

Additional Tasks:

  • Capacity development: Training and support of team
  • Work with Alliance UA CSO members and other stakeholders to identify necessary programs 
  • Oversee administrative aspects of programs to meet the objectives of the stakeholders
  • Analyze data to determine the effectiveness of programs
  • Suggest and implement improvements to programs and services
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on Alliance UA CSO activities for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements 

Education

  • Advanced degree in social science, international relations, political science,law, nonprofit management, business administration

Experience

  • Significant experience in program management, preferably in the nonprofit sector
  • Experience in leading and managing teams, including providing direction, mentoring, and performance management
  • Extensive experience in building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including donors, partners, and community leaders
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Knowledge and Skills

  • Budget management
  • Strong research skills to gather and analyze data and evidence, scientific and research background
  • Proficiency in managing projects, including planning, budgeting, and monitoring
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and team-building
  • Knowledge of fundraising strategies and grant writing

Languages

  • Ukrainian (fluent)
  • English (C1)

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement program strategies and action plans to achieve program goals and objectives
  • Manage program budgets, including tracking and reporting expenditures

  • Supervise and support program and project staff, providing support and coaching as needed

Additional duties:

  • Capacity development: Training and support of personnel
  • Working with members of the Alliance of Ukrainian CSOs and other interested parties to determine the necessary programs
  • Supervision of the administrative aspects of the programs to achieve the goals of the interested parties
  • Data analysis to determine the effectiveness of the programs
  • Implementation program improvement
  • Reporting: preparation of regular reports on the activities of the Alliance of Ukrainian CSOs for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

Higher education

  • Higher education in social sciences, international relations, political science, law, management of non-profit organizations, business administration
  • Work experience

    • Program management experience, preferably in the non-profit sector
