With just $2,000 in savings, the two bootstrapped the company to $25 million in ARR - and profitably - in just 5 years. They then raised $325 million of venture funding, rapidly scaling the business to 200+ people and >$100 million in ARR. After that first 8-year journey and experiencing the pains of an ‘upgraded’ accounting system first-hand, they have decided what to throw themselves at for the next 8 years: to build DualEntry, the accounting software they needed.About DualEntry:We’re a well-funded, pre-launch company modernizing accounting for mid-market companies:We believe AI will disrupt accounting over the next 10 years. 77%+ of today's accounting workflows are already fully automatable (McKinsey & Co).The opportunity is now. There’s an extreme shortage of accounting talent; existing accounting softwares are ill-positioned for AI and have some of the lowest NPS ratios in all of FinTech (i.e: they're still stuck in the 1990's!).The opportunity is massive. Mid-market accounting in 10 years from today will look very different, and we're excited and proud to create this future!What You’ll Do As Product Design Lead:Report directly to co-founders, and work between Product and Design with engineersOwn product design from start to finish, wear a product hat to understand and design workflows, user requirements and user storiesWork directly with Product and Build the best-in-class web app SaaS product design from 0 to 1Lead user research and testing with co-founders and apply insights to guide design decisions (incl. understanding technical accounting terminology and workflows)Set the design culture towards UI excellence and best practices, product velocity and pipeline from day 1Build a comprehensive, organized design system with scalable and reusable componentsCreate wireframes and high fidelity mockups using component system you developed and user workflows, ensuring high usability and on-brand visualsDesign and develop demo-prototypes for customer and sales conversationsHelp recruit, interview and hire the early design teamLead and mentor junior design team membersEnsure design is integrated into all aspects of the business and culture and aligns with our valuesWhat You Bring:8 + years of experience: proven track record as a Product Designer or UI/UX Designer developing products from start to finish and developing design systems from 0 > 1Extreme comfort and mastery of FigmaAn extreme eye for detail with a passion for creating beautiful and appealing interactive user flowsTechnical frontend engineering understanding: knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and CSS libraries (e.g. Tailwind), state management (e.g. Redux) and moreUX Thinking: strong ability to think holistically about user experiences and design systems, coupled with excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skillsWillingness to work hard and ship product with engineers at high velocity, especially on FridaysDemonstrated experience with at least 5 complex web app SaaS projects in your portfolioHow You Operate:Pragmatic: you like to move forward and make decisions based in reality (not theory)Hard working: 'You can work long, hard, or smart, but [here] you can't choose two out of three" - Jeff BezosCurious: you love to learn, are highly curious about top product designs and creative user flow solutionsBenefitsAt DualEntry, our biggest reward is shaping the future of accounting technology with AI.
