GENERAL DUTIES

Manager (manager) at in the field of tangible (intangible) production (on issues of population protection / mental health and psychosocial support (PHPSP)) works under the auspices of the head of projects and programs and cooperates with other operational and support departments, and also manages one of the interdisciplinary teams of Handicap International (HI ). Under the condition of general support and guidance from the head of projects and programs, the manager (manager) provides assistance in the process of development and implementation of activities and tools of the NI company to collect data and meet needs through a multidisciplinary approach to the needs of vulnerable population groups and strengthening the capabilities of NI, local stakeholders parties and their beneficiaries in the field of population protection, mental health and psychosocial support.

Manager (manager) in the field of tangible (intangible) production (on issues of population protection / mental health and psychosocial support) together with the head of projects and programs will be responsible for:

• Planning, monitoring, quality implementation and monitoring of the work of projects and employees at the destination.

• Support of constructive cooperation between interested parties who control the processes of monitoring and evaluating the quality of activities for the protection of public interests, and assistance in preparing relevant reports for sponsors.

• Leadership in the work of the response team, supporting coordination efforts and sharing information with headquarters as needed.

TASK / SCOPE OF COMPETENCES

1. Support for the work of project managers.

· Planning activities to fulfill the requirements of sponsors and achieve the specified indicators.

· Provide assistance in the process of conducting multisecevaluation within their area of ​​responsibility, if necessary, including field trips, preparation of necessary reports, create individualized development plans at the strategic level.

· Support in the process of carrying out activities by creating verification and improvement of relevant tools, general support for the work of operational personnel and search for various solutions to issues under the given conditions.

· Monitoring the performance of project indicators and assessing the quality and compliance of activities.

· Assistance in the process of forming reports by collecting information and preparing periodic reports, including a description of the types of activities and data analysis.

2. Capacity building and technical support

· Provision of technical support for the work of the department, including prioritization of public interest issues and technical support of all types of activities .

· Support for the processes of development, adaptation and verification of data and/or educational materials on issues of increasing public awareness.

· Support in the process of implementation of recommendations and transitions to defined standards on the ground.

· Support in conducting informational/educational/educational activities for direct and indirect beneficiaries - persons from vulnerable population groups, persons with disabilities, elderly persons, IDPs, children, social service workers, institutions and other interested persons.

3. Coordination of activities of interested and contact persons

· Establishing and maintaining constructive partnership relations with interested parties, including representatives of authorities, national and international NGOs, volunteers, mutual aid groups.

· Creation and improvement of an effective network of contact persons for collecting and obtaining data on the needs of beneficiaries, as well as obtaining assistance during various types of activities.

· Maintaining a constant dialogue with colleagues from other departments on the ground in the local and other offices in the country.< /p>

· Responding to requests from supporting departments to follow procedures and ensure compliance with departmental work requirements.

· Promotion of local external prestige and impact of NI experience in the defense sector and PZPSP.

4. Management and organization of department work

· Combining the efforts of field teams with employees of other departments and technical specialistsemployees, organization of mutual support for the work of departments.

· Improvement of internal unity and performance of the role of a contact person in the field of fulfilling the requirements of internal policies and compliance with international standards.

5. Ethics and Code of Conduct

· In all cases, comply with the protection and safety standards of the HI company in accordance with the procedure.

6. Assist in other activities at the request of the head of the interest protection department

DESIRABLE SURVEY DATA

Qualification(s):

  • Diploma in the field of social protection of the population or in the field of mental health protection of the population.
  • Diplomas/certificates confirming completion of training relevant to the position.

Work experience:

  • At least 3 years of practical experience in public or private humanitarian organizations working with vulnerable populations or similar.
  • Experience of working with government officials and service providers. - Experience of managing and supporting personnel.
  • Reporting experience (written/oral).
  • Proven experience in computer literacy and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of English (intermediate level - oral and written);
  • Familiarity with humanitarian and protection technical guidelines and standards, including Minimum Standards for Preventing and Responding to Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies, Minimum Standards for Child Protection, IPC Guidelines and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
  • Ability to work effectively with government officials, organize meetings, manage contacts and provide support to individuals in need
  • Knowledge of national social policies and the ability to maintain contact with partners and other organizations.
  • The ability to manage the work of the team, to manage and create opportunities.
  • Ability to implement monitoring and reporting tools, follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently, be proactive and collaborate with other team members. 
  • Knowledge of the principles of vulnerability, disability and intersectionality of needs.

MHPSS Project Supervisor

LOCATION: Mykolaiv

Project Supervisor works in the field of material (immaterial) production (concerning public protection / mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS)) operates under the guidance of the Project and Program Manager and collaborates with other operational and support departments. They also lead one of Handicap International's (HI) interdisciplinary teams. With overall support and direction from the Project and Program Manager, the Manager assists in the development and implementation of HI's activities and tools for data collection and addressing needs through a multi-disciplinary approach for vulnerable population groups. They also work on strengthening HI's, local stakeholders', and beneficiaries' capacities in the areas of public protection, mental health, and psychosocial support.

      Project Supervisor in the field of material (immaterial) production (concerning public protection / mental health and psychosocial support) will, together with the Project and Program Manager, be responsible for:

  • Planning, monitoring, ensuring the quality of implementation, and tracking the work of projects and staff concerning public protection interests at the field level.
  • Supporting constructive collaboration among stakeholders overseeing the monitoring and evaluation of public protection measures, and assisting in preparing relevant reports for donors.
  • Taking a leadership role in the response team, supporting coordination efforts, and sharing information with the head office as necessary.

MISSIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supporting the work of project managers.

·   Planning activities to meet donor requirements and achieve defined indicators.

·   Assisting in conducting multi-sectoral assessments within their area of responsibility, if necessary, including field visits, preparation of required reports, and creating individualized strategic development plans.

·   Supporting the implementation of activities by developing and refining relevant tools, providing overall support to operational staff, and exploring various solutions to issues under the given conditions.

·   Monitoring the results of project indicators and evaluating the quality and compliance of activities.

·  Helping in report formation by collecting information and preparing periodic reports, including descriptions of conducted activities and data analysis.

2. Capacity building and technical support

·   Providing technical support to the department, including prioritizing public protection issues and ensuring technical support for all activities.

·   Supporting the development, adaptation, and validation of data and/or training materials related to raising public awareness.

·   Assisting in implementing recommendations and transitioning to defined standards on the ground.

·  Supporting the execution of informational/training/awareness activities for direct and indirect beneficiaries, including vulnerable groups, people with disabilities, the elderly, internally displaced persons (IDPs), children, social service workers, institutions, and others.

3. Activities’ coordination of interested persons and focal points

  • Establishing and maintaining constructive partnerships with interested persons, including representatives of government agencies, national and international NGOs, volunteers, and self-help groups.
  • Creating and enhancing an effective network of contacts for gathering and obtaining data on beneficiaries' needs, as well as securing assistance during various activities.
  • Maintaining ongoing dialogue with colleagues from other departments at local and other country offices.
  • Responding to requests from support departments to ensure procedural compliance and adherence to departmental requirements.
  • Promoting the local external prestige and impact of HI’s experience in the protection and MHPSS sectors.

4. Management and Organization of the Department's Work

  • Uniting the efforts of field teams with staff from other departments and technical specialists, and organizing mutual support among departments.
  • Improving internal cohesion and fulfilling the role of a contact person in ensuring compliance with internal policies and international standards.
  • Monitoring the work of operational teams, providing recommendations, and identifying ways to resolve issues and overcome potential obstacles to operational activities.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of practical experience working with public or private humanitarian organizations that serve vulnerable populations or similar.

  • Proven computer literacy and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
