Serge's Renewal department produces Grace at the Fray—a podcast featuring conversations and stories about the transformative power of the gospel and how God's grace shows up in and through the lives of weak and grace-resistant individuals, renewing them and leading them to a life on mission. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Podcast Production Assistant to join our creative team.Job Summary:As a Podcast Production Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the production process, supporting various aspects of podcast creation, from initial planning to final publication. You will work closely with the production team to ensure smooth and efficient workflows, contributing to the overall success of our podcasts. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for audio/video storytelling and a desire to gain hands-on experience in the podcasting industry.Responsibilities:Research & PlanningAssist in researching potential podcast guests and topics.Contribute ideas for content development and episode planning. Pre-ProductionCoordinate logistics for pre-interviews and episode recording sessions, including scheduling and communication with host and guests.Attend pre-interviews with guests and host to help gather ideas for shaping the episode.Collect guest bio and photos. Edit bio to podcast parameters as needed.Develop questions for guests and prepare show outlines.Manage and organize production assets, ensuring all necessary elements are ready for recording.RecordingProvide on-site support during recording sessions, handling technical setup and troubleshooting.Monitor audio quality and assist in directing host and guests for optimal performance.Editing & Post-ProductionAssist in editing video/audio content and preparing for content edit.Assist host with recording of intro/outro, as needed.Assist host with preparing a consistently high-quality final product.Prepare transcript for each episode.Manage process for assigning title to episode.Prepare shownotes and artwork for each episode.Distribution & Promotion Contribute to the scheduling and distribution of podcast episodes.Help develop and implement a podcast audience growth strategy, including helping with podcast promotion, and collecting analyzing metrics, and increasing audience engagement (e.g., starting a Facebook group).Qualifications:A personal commitment to Jesus Christ with a sincere desire to apply one's knowledge, skills, and abilities to advance the kingdom.A strong interest in podcasting and video/audio production.Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.Familiarity with video and audio editing software (Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro).Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.Basic knowledge of social media platforms.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Communication, Media Studies, or a related field (preferred).Previous experience in podcast production, video/audio editing, or related fields is a plus.How to Apply:Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter including desired hourly salary, and any relevant work samples or portfolios to Jim Lovelady ([email protected]) by April 22, 2024.
