Job Summary Westland Insurance isseeking atalented PHP development professional for athree-month contract (with potential extension) towork onseveral exciting projects within the insurance domain. This contract isfully remote and for someone who can implement new features, maintain existing code, and refactor existing code across abreadth ofproducts used both internally and externally atthe company. About the Role AsaPHP developer, working ondeveloping online solutions for insurance products, you will beresponsible for designing and developing software that can effectively digitize and streamline the insurance product experience. You will work closely with other developers, product owners, andQA engineers todeliver high-quality, robust, and flexible back-end solutions that meet the needs ofthe business and end-users. You will assume apivotal role inthe development ofshort-term software projects, leveraging your expertise and experience todevelop modern web applications that feature adaptive front-end user experience and robust backend solutions. Responsibilities Take full ownership ofyour tasks from development totesting and delivering Translate complex functional, technical and business requirements into efficient and scalable software designs byconsidering time and financial constraints Design and implement secured and testable API systems Adhere tomodern tooling and design practices inthe enterprise domain Responsible for the planning, coordination, development, and supervision ofall activities related tothe integration ofapplications and third-party solutions tomeet the business requirements ofthe organization Collaborate closely with UX/UI Designers and advise ontechnical feasibility ofproposed design approaches Key Relationships Reporting toITDevelopment Manager and Development Team Lead. Collaborating closely with other development team members, QAengineers and business analysts. Experience and Qualifications Prior experience with modern self-documenting API design with Swagger/OpenAPI Thorough understanding ofavailable authentication/authorization technologies (OAuth2, JWT) Building distributed task processing systems Prior experience designing customer-facing dashboards (authentication, RBAC) Prior experience with E-commerce and payment gateways (Stripe, Moneris, Bambora) Solid grasp ofapplication security and performance optimization techniques Experience with microservices and containerized applications design Deep understanding ofsoftware architecture patterns and concepts Understanding ofmultithreading and parallelism 3+years ofusing IDE, debugging and code profiling Proactive and have excellent written and oral communication skills Technical Requirements 3+years ofexperience with PHP 8.x using Symfony and Laravel frameworks 3+years oftest-driven development and unit testing RDBMS system design (MySQL, MariaDB) Solid knowledge ofDocker and containerized approach todevelopment Experience with CI/CD pipelines Experience with AWS, GCP orMSAzure Bonus Points Asynchronous PHP development (Amphp, ReactPHP) Message queueing Web sockets
