OBSTETRICIAN GYNAECOLOGIST
Doctors without borders / Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international humanitarian organization that provides assistance in more than 60 countries of the world to populations in difficult situations, victims of natural disasters, man-made disasters and armed conflicts, regardless of their race, religion or political beliefs.

Main purpose:
Perform gynecological and obstetric procedures, provide any necessary pre-treatment before, during or immediately after childbirth, with the aim of improving women's reproductive health and reducing risks related to pregnancy, childbirth and neonatology.
This is done in accordance with MSF policies, protocols and international hygiene standards, and in interdisciplinary collaboration with other doctors and obstetrics services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide gynecology and obstetrics care to beneficiaries, including prevention, diagnosis and
- Ensure the implementation of MSF clinical standards, tools, guidelines and protocols related to gynecology and obstetrics to minimize clinical risks and implement best reproductive practices.
- In collaboration with other medical professionals, collect quantitative gynecological data and ensure full use of management tools to improve gynecological outcomes and share knowledge with other professionals on places.
- Control the technical condition and operation of gynecological equipment and consumption of medicines; make orders as needed and ensure their rational use, as well as constant renewal and availability of pharmacy stocks. This is done in collaboration with the pharmacist, logistics staff and management.
Features of the MSF unit:
- Conduct outpatient consultations in mobile clinics, dispensaries and adapted points of medical care (for example, in sanitary cars), providing diagnosis and treatment of gynecological and reproductive diseases according to standard MSF medical protocols and international hygiene standards.
- Provide counseling and family planning services (condoms, oral contraceptives, progesterone, IUD insertion, etc.).
- Treat treatable gynecological diseases such as uterine prolapse, menstrual irregularities, menopausal symptoms, and uncomplicated infections.
- Identify and refer beneficiaries who require specialized or higher-level care (eg, chronic gynecological or oncological cases).
- Provide diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs); provide partner counseling and prevention education.
- Perform safe abortion procedures (SAC) when indicated, in accordance with MSF guidelines and Ukrainian legislation.
- Maintain sterility and hygiene of gynecological instruments and ensure compliance with infection prevention standards.
- Support the practice of task delegation through training and mentoring local medical staff (paramedics, nurses, primary care workers) on sexual and reproductive health issues: family planning, menopause, infection control, safe practices, etc.
- Contribute to community awareness through collaboration with the health promotion team on sexual and reproductive health and gender issues violence.
- Provide support to victims of sexual violence or any form of violence.
- Record consultations in Kobo or other MSF data collection tools, ensuring the quality, completeness and confidentiality of beneficiary data.
- Participate in analysis of incidence trends and tracking indicators (family planning engagement, treatment of sexually transmitted infections, symptom improvement, referrals, etc.).
- Provide technical advice in strategic discussions on sexual and reproductive health and analysis of lessons learned, support pathways for survivors of sexual violence adapted to different locations.
- Ensure rational use of medical consumables, drugs and equipment in gynecological activities.
- Work closely with the MAM Outreach team, HP Supervisor and other medical staff to harmonize services, referral routes and follow-up systems.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions and training organized by the project or mission.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Required: Specialist Diploma in Gynecology
Experience:
- Must have at least 2 years of professional experience in gynecology
- Prior experience with MSF or other NGOs in developing countries preferred.
Knowledge of languages: fluent Ukrainian; knowledge of the English language is desirable.
