Position Summary: The Nurse Trainer will be responsible for developing and implementing training programs for medical personnel not only in hospitals, but also in schools and other public institutions where nurses work. The role includes delivering educational sessions both online and offline, providing practical skills and ensuring best patient care practices are followed, particularly in high risk areas. On request, the trainer will also conduct educational sessions for patients, helping them gain the knowledge and skills to effectively manage their health. In addition, it will contribute to the creation of a culture of continuous learning and raising the professional level of the nursing staff.

Tasks:

  • Conducting trainings for nurses in selected institutions health care of the Kharkiv region and the city of Kharkiv in accordance with the agreed plan. The methodology involves working in small groups (5-10-15 participants), the duration of each session is 1 hour, with 3-4 sessions (different topics) per day.
  • Close cooperation with the medical team and the university to develop training programs (topics), teaching and assessment methods.
  • Cooperation with medical personnel and administration of health care institutions for the organization of trainings in small groups (online and offline).
  • Support of sanitary- educational programs in hospitals and communities, nurses during training sessions.
  • Evaluation and reporting on training activities and needs for further training based on observations.
  • Preparation of reports, documentation and regular reporting on the progress of trainings and educational activities in accordance with the established format.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of nursing; post-graduate education or a specialist degree in the field of medicine/pharmacy is desirable.
  • Minimum work experience in medical institutions (public or private), medical educational institutions and/or cooperation with humanitarian organizations.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office).
  • Fluency in the Ukrainian language; knowledge of English will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills .
  • Commitment to accountability, transparency and learning culture.
  • Readiness for regular long business trips (up to 5 working days) - trainings will be held in the Kharkiv region, venues are approved by the security department of the local representative office.

Program Summary:

Project HOPE is providing humanitarian assistance to internally displaced and conflict-affected persons throughout Ukraine, as well as support to refugees in Poland, Romania, and Moldova. The portfolio in Ukraine focuses on Health, Protection, and WASH programming in partnership with two local NGOs, with private funding and support from USAID/BHA.

The project is aimed at improving the personal hygiene skills of the population and care for vulnerable groups, as well as increasing the population's awareness of the prevention of common chronic non infectious diseases by conducting training for junior medical personnel on methods of communication on these topics with patients of health care institutions.

This role includes facilitating both online and offline educational sessions, providing hands-on training, and ensuring adherence to best practices in patient care, particularly in high-risk areas. Additionally, the Nurse Trainer will conduct patient education sessions, empowering patients with knowledge and skills to manage their health effectively. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement, the Nurse Trainer plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of care provided to patients and supporting the professional growth of nursing staff across various environments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in nursing, post graduation in nursing education is desirable.

One year experience in working in public or private nursing colleges, hospitals, experience with other NGOs, desirable.

Strong skills in computerregarding basic programs. 

Fluency in Ukrainian required, English desirable, good written and oral communication skills.
