Save the Children
Save the Children International— a humanitarian organization with more than 100 years of history. Save the Children was founded in May 1919 in London. SCI has been working in Ukraine since 2014. It started its work in the territory of Donetsk region. Currently, SCI is expanding its activities to eight cities of Ukraine, and Dnipro is one of them. We work in the areas of education, child protection, overcoming child poverty, health care, and also conduct advocacy activities related to the protection of children's rights.
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Non-Food Consultant will be based in the Save the Children office in Dnipro and will manage the day-to-day implementation of the Non-Food (NFI) component of Save the Children (SC) in the eastern region of the country.< /span>
Non-Food Consultant will represent Save the Children International (SCI) at the local level. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that all assigned SCI shelter activities are performed in accordance with Save the Children policies and applicable standards.
The Non-Food Consultant will ensure that all aspects of the work are carried out in accordance with Save the Children policies. In the event of an additional humanitarian emergency, the incumbent will be expected to work outside of their normal profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
KEY DUTIES:
Assist the Senior Non-Food Consultant in assessing non-food/shelter needs; data collection/measurement required for evaluation
Represent and provide support to the Senior Consultant and/or Issue Manager of non-food items during meetings (internal and external)
Provide updates to the MEAL team on accurate work plans p>
Maintain updated trackers of partner inventory and all distributions, including monthly sharing of timely activity data with MEAL.
Supervise, manage and support staff and volunteers (as described above) throughout the process by resolving issues that may arise when working with beneficiaries and communities.
Responsible for any assessment and evaluation at local level (with partners or within Save the Children for non-food or multidisciplinary approach).
Arrange all relevant travel and transfers in accordance with SCI regulations and safety measures.
Organize all activities required for distribution such as coordination, evaluation and planning etc. in collaboration with Senior Non-Food Consultant.
Provide daily, weekly and monthly reports and inform the Senior Consultant and/or Program Manager of issues and challenges.
Willingness to respond to requests, needs and challenges that arise, which are directly or indirectly related to the field of work;
Collaborate with Child Protection, Education, WASH, Cash and Voucher Assistance/Product Safety and Life Support teams - including during rapid response.
Team management and capacity building.
Identify staff welfare and capacity building needs at local level.
Support the selection of appropriate staff and volunteers for the NFI team in collaboration with the Senior Non-Food Consultant.
In collaboration with the Senior Consultant and Program Manager of the Shelter/WASH/Non-Food Division, identify capacity building requirements for non-food team members. Conduct technical training and provide one-on-one mentoring.
li>Supervise and mentor all direct reports
Ensure that non-food team members use weekly work plans and reports.
Conduct trainings for relevant local NGOs and partners.
Partnership Management
Maintain working partnerships and good communication with representatives of SC non-food partners and programs;
Establish and maintain relations with local authorities and community leaders;
Establish and maintain partnerships with local NGOs.
Plan and organize meetings with project implementing partners to discuss achievements and challenges.
External relations/Representation
Represent the SC at regional cluster/coordination meetings (e.g. distribution, non-food, etc.) and other meetings and forums , also play a leading role in strengthening aspects of sheltering that are related to the protection and education of children.
Ensure that programmatic interventions continue to draw on information from other key sectors of the security sector such as defence, education , as well as food security and livelihoods, and integrated with these sectors.
Ensure that interventions are developed in partnership with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders, including local partners ( if available), in order to create/strengthen processes and mechanisms at the local, district and national levels. Promote children's participation in all areas of response where possible and appropriate.
Contribute to the development of case studies for reporting, advocacy and media work.

Perform other duties as agreed with your program manager.
QUALIFICATIONS: p>
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or any other related field
Social work or similar field of activity
Ability to prepare weekly and monthly reports
Well organized;
Commitment and understanding of goals, values and principlesof SCs, including human rights-based approaches.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS< /p>
Key competencies:
Significant work experience (minimum 2 years)
Experience in project management and distribution
Experience in international and local NGOs (especially during emergencies)
Speaking and written English
< /li>Computer literacy (fluency in Word and Excel)
Work experience in the social/humanitarian field
Experience of mobilizing communities and conducting information and educational activities
Ability to maintain consistently high standards of professional behavior and achievement, working both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to cope with stress and pressure
Preferably:
Ability to take initiative where necessary to overcome challenges arising in day-to-day work;
The ability to adapt or change priorities according to the changing situation in the mission or in the organization itself;
Excellent communication and diplomatic skills to manage relationships in a stressful situation

ROLE PURPOSE:
< em style="font-weight: 400"> The NFI Officer will be based primarily in Save the Children's office in Dnipro and will manage the day-to-day implementationentation of components of Save the Children's NFIs activities in the east area. The NFI Officer will be expected to present SCI at a field level. S/he will be responsible for ensuring that all SCI Shelter activities assigned to him/her are done in accordance with Save the Children’s policies and applicable standards. The NFI Officer will ensure that all aspects of work are undertaken in accordance with Save the Children’s Policies. In the event of an additional humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
