New Product Manager (NPD Manager)

Main duties and responsibilities:

Ensure effective management of the process of creation and introduction of new products - from idea to market entry. Coordinate cross-functional interaction between all involved departments (marketing, R&D, production, finance, sales), ensuring timely and high-quality execution of the stages of the GATE process.

1. Coordination of the NPD process:

• Acceptance of ideas from all functions, filtering, preliminary assessment and presentation to the NPD committee.
• Management of the full cycle of the project - from initiation to commercial launch.
• Preparation of project documentation: idea description, concept, design brief, technical card, basic calculation, financial forecast.

2. Project management:

• Maintenance of the project calendar and control of deadlines.
• Organization of regular cross-functional meetings, keeping protocols and monitoring the implementation of decisions.
• Ensuring compliance of development stages with the approved GATE process.

3. Interaction with internal functions:

• Cooperation with the chief technologist - coordination of recipes, tests, tastings, tests for product stability and quality.
• Coordination with production - determination of possibilities, minimum batches, packaging materials, launch dates, identification of risks (production, regulatory, financial) and development of preventive actions.
• Support brand teams in terms of timings, technical documentation and preparation for launch, participation in the formation of the NPD strategy and portfolio of innovations. 

4. Financial-analytical part:

• Collection and structuring of input data for financial evaluation of projects (calculations of costs, profitability, return on investment (ROI).
• Control of updating the register of projects, statuses and key indicators.
• Post-analysis of launches (estimation of sales, profitability, errors).

5. Administrative and communication part:

• Preparation of materials for presentations of new products to management.
• Maintenance of the internal archive of projects (successful and closed).
• Constant interaction with the purchasing, design, logistics, quality control department.

Requirements for candidate:

• Education: Higher (bachelor, master) preferably in the field of marketing, economics, food technology or project management.
• Work experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in FMCG companies, of which at least 2 years in New Products (NPD), Brand Management, Project Management or R&D coordination.
• Experience of participating in or coordinating the full cycle of launching new products in a manufacturing company is a must.

Professional skills:

• Knowledge of the stages and principles of new product development (gate process).
• Practical understanding of FMCG technological processes and production constraints.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project (or similar project tools Trello/ Asana).
• Skills in financial analysis of projects (cost, profitability, ROI).
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and influence without direct reporting.

Personal qualities:

• High organization, attention to detail, systematic.
• Responsibility and ability to bring projects to completion.
• Communicative, diplomatic, ability to coordinate different functions.
• Practical thinking, result-oriented and quick decision-making.
• Flexibility and resistance to multitasking.

Knowledge of languages:     

• Ukrainian language
• English language (B1-B2)

Additional requirements for professional competencies:

• Experience working in an environment with several brands / categories.
• Understanding of consumer trends and packaging design principles.
• Basic knowledge of packaging technologies and cost calculation.
• Skills in conducting meetings and facilitating cross-functional groups.
