Save the Children
Save the Children International— a humanitarian organization with more than 100 years of history. Save the Children was founded in May 1919 in London. SCI has been working in Ukraine since 2014. It started its work in the territory of Donetsk region. Currently, SCI is expanding its activities to eight cities of Ukraine, and Dnipro is one of them. We work in the areas of education, child protection, overcoming child poverty, health care, and also conduct advocacy activities related to the protection of children's rights.
KEY DUTIES:
MEAL system
Responsible for implementing MEAL systems in certain programs in the east of the country;
Ensures that project MEAL staff and other project staff understand the various steps and tools of the MEAL system and that they consistently used in all projects / regions;
Provides support to MEAL teams in conducting quality monitoring according to international standards using participatory methodologies (including methodologies, child-oriented);
Provides technical support and participates as necessary in all other aspects of MEAL such as surveys, evaluations, initial reports, evaluations, reviews of joint projects/seminars/events from the acquired experience.
Technical support MEAL and Capacity Building
Provides management/leadership and technical support to MEAL staff in SC and partner organizations in designated projects to ensure the functioning of the MEAL system.
Contributes to an organizational culture that promotes MEAL and understands its relationship to quality and accountable programs;
Provides training and capacity building for SC project staff and partner organizations as required in the MEAL direction;
MEAL support at the project level
Ensures that regular monitoring and accountability reports are received and effectively communicated to the MEAL Regional Manager and thematic managers within the response framework.
At the request of the head of the MEAL sector, participate in the development of the program;
During the absence of the MEAL sector manager, replace them at meetings;
Is an integral part of the MEAL team at the project level and liaises closely with the Program Implementation Strategy team , ensuring the transfer of information at the project level on the ground and at the response level;
Manage the data quality assurance process at project sites.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Higher education in a relevant field such as statistics, mathematics, data analysis, computer science, psychology, political science, economics, international development or a related discipline.
Fluency in written and spoken Ukrainian, Russian and English (not lower than B2 level). Candidates will be interviewed in English.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Preferred to have at least two years of managerial experience and/or MEAL experience as in both emergency and development contexts, preferably with extensive experience in one of Save the Children's priority sectors: education, protection, rights management, food security and livelihoods, health and nutrition, and emergencies.
Professional knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
Proven experience coordinating quantitative surveys and qualitative research, including sample size calculation, selection of sampling methodology, development of data collection tools and training of recorders
Proven experience coordinating quantitative and qualitative data analysis and interpretation of results, as well as experience using statistical software
Experience using KoBo Toolbox, CommCare or other mobile data collection software
Experience in coordinating the implementation of child-centered and inclusive accountability systems to children and communities, including feedback and reporting systems
Willingness and ability to travel in the context of emergencies.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate and mentor.
Experience in managing people;
Well-developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people of different backgrounds and cultural values.
Experience solving complex issues through analysis, defining a clear path and ensuring buy-in

Ability and willingness to significantly change work practices and work schedules, as well as work with field teams in case of emergencies.
