Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Training Assistant (MEAL Assistant) in ACTED

ACTED provides ongoing support to vulnerable communities by ensuring the sustainability of post-crisis interventions and preparedness for the long-term challenges facing populations to break the cycle of poverty, promote development and reduce vulnerability to disasters. Goals

1. Organize data collection and conduct surveys, focus group discussions and key informant interviews with beneficiaries and key stakeholders Acted.
2. Participate in the implementation of reliable MEAL systems and mechanisms that align with global MEAL procedures, and conduct effective investigations/findings in a manner that enables timely decisions and informed corrective actions.
3. Ensure lessons learned and best practices are communicated to appropriate teams and documented .  

Duties and responsibilities

MEAL systems

1. Technical and system development
2. Update the MEAL work plan in the areas he/she works on;
< li>Contribute to the effective deployment of monitoring and evaluation data collection, including the development of questionnaires, tracking tools, organization logistics of data collection and regular review by program teams and MEAL management in the field;
3. Implement MEAL policies and procedures as described in ACTED MEAL standard guidelines;
4. Conduct training for program teams and MEAL accountants on the objectives of MEAL activities.

Meal implementation and management

1. Apply appropriate analysis tools and methodologies (e.g. surveys, focus group discussions, key informant interviews) and collect data in person or over the phone via Kobotoolbox;
2. Provide support to MEAL accounts as needed;
3. Communicate with Acted's information management team to ensure that all data collected by the MEAL program and teams are maintained in electronic and/or paper form;
4. Analyze MEAL data and produce timely reports, newsletters with useful statistical analysis and presentation (charts, tables, histograms, box plots).
5. Organize meetings with program teams to discuss results and areas for improvement.

   Learning

   1. Encourage the active dissemination and use of knowledge gained during MEAL activities among managers projects, technical coordinators and project development managers/officers;
   2. Contribute to the organization and facilitation of training events to capture best practices and lessons learned after project closure or as needed;
   3. Timely document and share lessons learned and best practices and ensure that knowledge gainedcontribute to the improvement of projects and influence the strategic development of future projects and activities;
   4. Support project implementation and improvement by providing timely information on project successes that need to be increased, as well as challenges to allow for “course correction” during throughout the duration of the program.

   Other

   1. Provide MEALM and other team members with regular and timely updates on progress and issues;< /li>
   2. Perform any other related actions as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

   Key qualifications

   < ul>
7. 0-1 year of work experience in monitoring and evaluation or in a related field;
8. Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office tools;
9. Prior experience with humanitarian agencies or development agencies;
10. Knowledge of the English language is desirable.
