BF "Right to Defense" (Foundation) is one of the leaders of the human rights movement in Ukraine. The Fund is an executive partner of the UNHCR and carries out direct legal assistance programs throughout Ukraine, promotes changes in the national legal base, bringing it into line with international standards in the field of human rights.

The monitoring and evaluation specialist will report to the Coordinator of the Fund's monitoring and evaluation department and will work in close cooperation with the development departments and fundraising, program departments, the communication and advocacy department, as well as with the support of the financial and administrative department.

The position provides for the possibility of remote work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY

  • Planning and conducting internal evaluations of projects and programs (baseline, midline, endline), including the development of methodologies, tools and analytical reports.

  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, prepare informed conclusions and recommendations, and support program teams in using the results for improvement projects.

  • Development of the organization's internal reporting system, ensuring consistency of data, indicators and narratives.

  • Ensuring collection, verification, management and storage of project data.

  • Development and implementation of learning agenda, documentation of lessons learned and best practices, organization learning and reflection sessions.

  • Promoting the integration of assessment results and analytics into programmatic and strategic planning.

  • Participating in the development of internal standards, policies and approaches for assessment, reporting and training; providing methodological support to teams.

Reporting and Accountability

  • Comply with all relevant R2P policies and procedures, including a code of conduct and policy on accountability to affected populations.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher education in sociology, social sciences, law, management, research or other relevant field;

  • Minimum 2 years of professional practical experience in monitoring and evaluation or sociological research;

  • Experience in developing evaluation designs, methodologies and data collection tools;

  • Experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative research, developing data collection and analytics tools;

  • Experience in preparing analytical reports, narrative reports, lessons learned, case studies;

  • Experience with reporting systems, metrics and donor requirements would be an advantage;

  • Experience in organizing and facilitating learning sessions, reflection meetings, after-action reviews;

  • Understanding the principles of results-based management, theory of change, learning approaches;

  • Ability to transform data and resultsevaluations into practical training materials and recommendations;

  • Analytical thinking, systematicity, ability to work with large volumes of data and turn them into management conclusions;

  • Fluency in Ukrainian and English.
