We are seeking a  Chief Operating System Architect to join our team in Warsaw. In this role, you will be instrumental in building a new operating system that tackles consumer device fragmentation and vendor lock-in, working in an open, transparent, and collaborative environment. As part of the Eclipse Oniro project, you will serve as a key technical expert, the Project Management Committee lead, and a leader within our team and the broader open-source ecosystem. You will collaborate with member companies of the Oniro Working Group and engage with various open-source communities. If you are a skilled software architect with experience across all layers of operating systems and a proven track record of open-source contributions, we’d love to meet you!

Requirements

• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on operating systems and mobile technologies. 
• Proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams and managing complex projects. 
• Strong understanding of system architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices for both OS and mobile development. 
• Experience working on the development of OS’s that utilize mainline Linux Kernel, with a deep understanding of its architecture, codebase, and community. 
• Additional experience with Android Open Source Project and Tizen OS. 
• Proficiency in designing scalable, robust, and maintainable software systems. 
• In-depth experience with open-source development and a comprehensive understanding of the open-source ecosystem. 
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical roadmaps and align strategies with business objectives. 
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. 
• A passion for open-source software and a commitment to building innovative mobile technologies that push the boundaries of what is possible. 

Bonus Points:

• Familiarity with mobile application frameworks such as ReactNative or Flutter. 
• Experience in porting operating systems to new hardware platforms.
